NASA Spacecraft Data Suggest Water Flowing on Mars
PASADENA, Calif. -- Observations from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter have revealed possible flowing water during the warmest months on Mars.

Interesting. Maybe some day we'll get a better chance to find out.

Let's see... a recent thread on oxygen discovered in space, now liquid water on Mars. If they discover bread on Venus I'm outta here. :D

There was at time that people thought there were hot jungles and oceans of oil on the surface of Venus.
They they sent a probe down and it melted in a few minutes from the corrosive atmosphere and acid rain. :O:

Nah. The bread supply ship crashed into the Baltic.

So why all the excitement about water in space when we got plenty here and we use it like a toilet is it magical ??????

One less rather heavy essential of life we need to lug along with us on the trip for millions of miles if we ever wish to colonize Mars for starters, although it's still early to speculate.

I bet space water tastes better than regular water anyway...

That, plus the possibility of finding some kind of life forms within the water of course. If some kind of life exists on another planet within our own solar system, then the forming of life itself cannot be so much of a lottery as we may believe now. The finding of any sort of organism so 'close' by would surely indicate that the whole universe is likely be teeming with life....
They've gotta wash their fighting machines somehow.

Water on Mars has been speculated for some time now.
I think Martian landmarks like the Mariner Valley could have once been ancient seabeds,or large rivers.Dont forget the huge extinct volcano Olympus Mons, and if a planet had or has volcanoes then the planet is geologically 'alive' ,and could hold water and other life giving elements too.
If you think THATS far out some scientists think the oceans on Neptune could be liquid diamond :arrgh!:

That's absolutely ridiculous! :nope:
Everyone knows you'd have a few thousand acres of parking lot around that thing!

It will be safe to assume that once humans finally have the capability to colonise other worlds it will only be the 'elite' and those that have tonnes of money, just like down on this sh#thole that manage to do anything,of importance that is.
Makes me sick to be honest, humans will no doubt eventually corrupt and pollute space, just like they have done with our home planet.
I'll never forget the scene from The Matrix (and there is some truth in it actually),where Agent Smith is interrogating that annoying fool Morpheus:
"I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure"
I dont like modern society very much :yep:
