Does it actually reduce enemy sensing or is it just SH5 eye candy?

Pretty sure it's just eye-candy, only hull upgrades like the Tarnmatte (for which you may need TheBeast's Equipment Upgrades mod, found here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=182194) will do anything to reduce your sensor imprint.

It was pretty much eye-candy in real life too. :dead:

...maybe at the boats, as they where too big. but not at the snorkels. the snorkels head absorbtion was reduced to 10% with the coating.

My apologies. I was thinking of the thread title - Camoflage - and not of tarmatte. My mistake. :sunny:

From what I know it actually modifies some of the sub's detection parameters.

A modder should check out the configuration files, I think you'll find some of this stuff in there somewhere.
