U-99 Beer Stein

Someone I know was very lucky..... as he has received a collection of WWII German beer steins. The person that gave them to him is a WWII US vet that picked them up during the last days of the war.

This stein is one of the ones I drool over. It's not a reproduction and there are proof marks on the bottom of the steins. And, none are for sale at this time.

Here's a photo of Otto Kretschmer's U-99 Stein. As far as it is known at this time, it is possibly one of Kretschmer's personel steins, even tho he was a prisoner of war in 1941.

Uh, yeah. A replica's good enough for me. If it was real I couldn't drink out of it.
