Hi,

So due to a computer problem, I had to reinstall Windows and had to reinstall SH4. :(

Because I'm an idiot, I forgot to write down the names of the mods I had installed.

I know I had the PE4 and the ROW mods, so I installed those. But, when I played the game and initiated a 'crash dive' as a test...the submarine dove a LOT quicker than I remember. It used to be very slow before. (The simulation speed was set to 1)

I currently have 1.4 installed. Please help me find out what mod I am missing! (Also, I think I had Living Breathing Ocean. Is that included in PE4?)

I installed ROW (the sound effects) and PE4 successfully via JSME.

Thanks!

SOMEBODY Please help?

Also, I cannot find the links to Living Breathing Ocean nor Natural Sinking Mechanics. I've tried the links here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=118945) but the links seem to be broken.

Can somebody upload them for me and post the links here? Thanks...

Thanks! How is anyone supposed to know what mods you had installed? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you here but, if you don't know what was on your PC, how are we supposed to know?

As far as environmental mods, have you tried looking in the "Downloads" section on the tab above?

I'm sorry; but I think I explained it wrong.

First question: Does anybody know of any mods where it makes your submarine more realistic? (Textures and dive/surface physics and/or realistic damage models)

Second question: Is Living Breathing Ocean included in Pacific Environments 4? What about Natural Sinking Mechanics?

I'm goin' down

Don't know how long it's been for you, but many new mods out there now.

I would load TMO 2.2. It has it's own enviroment mod. PE and LBO are older works, but the new enviroment mods retain much of both.

Run RSRD for better campaign traffic.

I would start with those two and try others slowly, just make sure they're work with TMO 2.2, etc.

The DL order

TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2
TMO_Update_20_to_22
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1

TMO 2.2 dos not work with 1.4
Get TMO ovehaul, if you canīt find it i can upload it for you.

Yea, i missed where you only had 1.4. If you can get 1.5 for recent mods.

You can run either TMO or RFB mega mods with RSRD fo4 1.4, older versions, but still a decent game. The better stuff is for 1.5

Here is the DL's. Didn't check all the links, but it's still in the mod section.

Thanks everyone for the help - didn't realize so many awesome mods were out!

This is my install order so far - please tell me if there is something wrong with it (or if I am mussing any files) because it keeps on crashing to the desktop (with no error messages) after it says the 'Not so long ago...' message. (I'm trying to load a previous save that worked before I installed these mods.)

RFB_v1.4 (greyed out)
RFB_v1-4_TorpedoFix_081108
RSRDC_RFBv14_v390 (greyed out)
RSRDC_v390_Patch2 (greyed out)
RSRDC_SH4V14_CTDFIX
ROW Sound Effect v_9

Thanks again; can't wait to play SH4 again. I've missed that game.

Looks OK but you should try to start a new career and see if it stopīs crashing.

Thanks - that worked!

There's no music in-game though. Did RFB/RSRD disable the music? If so - how can I re-enable it?

EDIT: Or if anybody can recommend any music mods; like maybe add more radio stations or gramaphone songs?

try options in (the radio in the office)

Thanks - that did the trick. It was checked off for some reason.

Erm...now I have another problem (sorry!) but these mods are new to me.

I've noticed that, after patrolling the sea (one of my missions), there has only been fishing boat convoys (neutral) and nothing else. Not a battleship nor merchant ship in sight. I've spent at least 2-3 weeks in-game time looking around the area. Am I doing something wrong or am I maybe patrolling a too-small of an area? (I wouldn't think so. It's all of Bismarck Sea and then some.)

RSRD layers historical traffic and uses historical shipping lanes, so you gotta think history or at least pay attention to where the game tells you conflicts are arising. Once you start learning, you'll find you can stay attacking large convoys, TF and the battles are great.

Bismark picks up more late 42 to 43, except more traffic from Rabaul to the Solomons. Lot's of action near Sava July to Dec. Also several big battles, so study up.

You using RFB it makes things harder to find try using TMO:03:

Armistead beat me to it.

Thanks everyone! This mod is neat!

Is there anyway to get the torpedo to show up on the 'battle map' like it did in stock? I know that's not realistic, but I'd still like that in there.

Does it not, in tactical map?

SolitaryHowl2008
08-01-11, 06:05 PM
No; it doesn't show up on either of the maps actually. (The 'battle' or the navigation.) Is it supposed to?

Oh yeah, different mods have different opinions on what "no contact update" should mean...
