The USPS release of the new Merchant Marine postage stamps was commemorated in a unique way in Baltimore on 29 and 30 July.
Project Liberty Ship - USS John W. Brown served as a temporary post office for the two days, offering the stamps and commemorative cancelled envelopes using a special for-the-event cancellation stamp to visitors who chose to purchase them while touring the 1942-era Liberty Ship visiting the Inner Harbor's West Wall for the weekend.
USS John W. Brown is the only seaworthy, oceangoing Liberty Ship on the East Coast.
This view, however, might not warm the hearts of those Liberty Ship sailors unless they know it's a view from a friendly - shot through the observation scope on USS Torsk (SS-423).

I love my job.
