Hi Again,

1. How do you take a screenshot after I installed Magnus Opus Mod, Print screen doesn't work any more. (thought I might get fraps and put some vids up too)

I tried to remap it in the keyboardmapping.cfg I think? not at my PC to check. But that didn't work either?? I also tried this too http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=168297

2. this is going to sound really stupid but when its night I cant see a thing through the scope... is this correct? I can sometimes just make out the silhouette of the boat/s I'm targeting.

3. I think it was SH4, but the ships/target sank better than in 5, They would list even break and sink separately. This was really satisfying to watch. So I tried to put a Torpedo under the hull with magnetic and slow speed but aiming for the middle of the ship when firing 3 torps how do you stage the firing? 1st for the front 2nd for the middle to break 3rd for the rear?

I tried this but failed the 1st I set to fast speed which hit. 3rd to the rear of the boat again set to fast and hit, 2nd to go under the hull but slow the boat had already slowed and started to turn towards me so this torp missed... any ideas

Just noticed thats actually 3 questions.... sorry

Well as for the first question; you should still be able to take photo's by pressing Ctrl+F11 - after you've taken a photo, check your SH5 folder, the photo's should be there. MO mod does not alter this.

As to the second; Some nights are very dark, so you are going to experience limited visibility, if in addition to this if there's fog, visibility can be as low as 200 meters, if this is not to your taste there's various mods that enable you to have brighter nights. The link below is one:

http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/l568/stoianm/afternormalweather.jpg

This will be visibility under normal conditions.

Thirdly; Damage to ships is worked out differently from SH5 to SH3/SH4 one of the many complaints laid against this version, again, there are mods which can alter the sinking mechanics, although I believe improvements are already to be found in MO. Others who are better informed than me can give a more detailed explanation/solution.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Velero.

Didnt know it was Ctrl+F11 I was going by the on screen keyboard map from F1, which shows Printscreen as the screenshot button. So I will trying F11 :DL

Your screenshot of the sky is very pleasing mine is black, I mean really black. I was playing last night and came across a convoy had to use map contacts to line up and to know when to fire. I couldn't even see there silhouette and there was a full moon :o

In the videos you can see what I mean much more dramatic, SH5 just go straight down there doesnt seem to be any logic applied to the ship sinking

The Third video is longer but you can see the flooding mechanics really working if the target gets hit to the rear it will sink from the rear, where as in SH5 this doesnt seem to be the case.

Yeah, iīm not pleased with the sinking mechanics either, from the little I know sinking mechanics is worked out in 2 ways, one is the total hit-points the ship has (i.e 250) and the other how much water the ship has taken in, once it passes a certain threshold the ship sinks, I believe in the other SH versions the ship was divided in to compartments and so damage effected the ship differently, as I said donīt take my word for it, is just from what I read. I could be completely wrong on this one.

Try the following mod which changes the damage variables by quite a bit (read the opening thread to see all the modifications it does).

Yeah really is a shame I dont think your far from the mark your explanation makes alot of sense.

I didn't really want to go back to SH4 as I'd need to re-buy it as my last copy got damaged in storage with alot of my PC games :-?

I might have a look on steam for it.

This is not SH5 but reality:
A ship at moonless night. The anchor light was all that was visible from a 9 m long boat, distance ca. 80m.

A ship at moonless night. The anchor light was all that was visible from a 9 m long boat, distance ca. 80m. Realistically speaking at night, visibility at sea would be extremely poor, in our modern life's we rarely experience total darkness. The only problem with looking at a dark screen is the effect it has on your eyes, just for this itīs worth it having it a bit brighter.

Well, just as a coincidence I hit a tanker with one torpedo, mid ship at a depth of 6 meters, and she broke in two, decks burning! You just have to admit that in terms of eye candy, SH5 wins hands down.

Nice screenies, mine is total black. I can see the white peaks of the ocean but that's it. In daylight Sh5 is great to look at.

I have installed the mod that you suggested but it hasn't changed anything?

I've sunk about 300,000 and not had a break or sinkage like yours all be flat and well boring.

I did hit a destroyer that was trying to get me, was really thrilling game-play.

I was on my way back to port when I stumbled on 2 destroyers in the English channel I dropped to 40 mtrs silent running but the just kept circling. I noticed 1 had taken a wider circle around me this sweep so I came to a complete stop and raised to scope depth. Set my TDC for straight shot, took a complete gamble and fired my last torp at 1 destroyer and dived back to 40mtrs. With a lot of luck I hit the destroyer. I immediately went to full speed and got out of there as the destroyer burned and eventually sank!!

This is what I see even with the mod nights mod installed, but I'm not sure if its in the right order with Mods I currently have.

At 90% of all, this picture is exactly what you get in realtiy: no clear horizon during a night-voyage.
