So, I've managed to sink the Yamato at Truk Lagoon. On my way into position, I got lucky and sank a destroyer as he made his depth charge run. Amazingly, all my Mk.14s are working perfectly. There are 2 ships left trying to kill me - an armed trawler (the fishing boat with depth charges) and a sub chaser. I'm parked underneath a Japanese battleship. I have 4 torpedoes left - and I have to sink the sub chaser. My torpedoes just will not hit.

I need a tip for using the magnetic detonator. It just has to work - or else I'm done for.

Thanks

mods? Year/date? Those are shallow draft ships, tough to hit.Torps run deep and if its after July 1943, you have no mag detonator, even if can select it on the firign panel because they were deactivated.Best bet may be to try and wait it out, dont reveal your position, let them give up(they wil eventually) and slip out of there.May have to do it on surface if you can get fire enough away from the BB youre hiding under and shore guns.

Why in the world did you go into the lagoon lol.

Its mid 42 - I'm running TMO 2.2

And - I just had a feeling that there was something in there.

Oh, and they're pinging me.

Yea your torpedos will run too deep to hit such shallow vessels. They run much deeper than set until its corrected in late August 42

Well after 3 days under water (love time compression) I went to flank and made it to deep water - with 3 ships in tow. I made it down to 350ft and got away. On the way back to Pearl I took 2 direct hits from an aircraft - which nearly killed my entire crew. I limped into Johnson Atoll on the verge of sinking at flanking speed, which was about 11 knots. When I finally got back to Pearl, I was immediately given command of the USS Balao (Woohoo! I get the first boat of the class!) and transferred to California. As soon as I finish this patrol, I'm requesting a transfer to Midway or somewhere.

Well, more like I was transferred involuntarily.

It was only to shove off, tho. I started the patrol in CA and ended it in Hawaii

I got it. Weren't you the joker in the captain's hat strolling accross the Golden Gate Bridge with a philly on each arm? I think I spotted you later at the Buena Vista bar at the Wharf? By then you had an entire enterage tugging at your coat sleeves (a lovely blonde with a great smile was wearing your hat by the way), and drinks were on the house. Life is tough when you are a war hero. ...

The way I see it, is that you stuck yourself in a pretty claustrophobic situation. Not only if the battleship scrambles into a taskforce on the spot, will your fps and possibly game engine crash, but also, you'll be worrying about other ships in the vicinity.

How much charge you have on the battery? What are the weather conditions? Post a pic for your position and other vessel signatures, and maybe, the bright boys on this turf will think of something.

Like I said - problem was solved.

My computer won't crash. I can go through the Battle of the Philippine Sea at max settings without any lag.
