While no matter what, this is unacceptable behavior, I wonder if the issue that caused the manager to lose it was based more on the spilling of the drink on the manager or the dog?

You know I have never really liked McDonalds food(or any fast food) very much but what company is going to hire a person as a manager that would possibly punch a customer in the face? I suspect that this person must have caused issues with other guests and employees before this. When I was in high school I worked for a privately owned restaurant I was only just 17 at the time.I had to take out all the kitchens trash at closing and one night the kitchen manager parked his truck blocking the path to the trash so I ask him to please move his truck and he tells me to "******* off" so I remind him that the longer he delays me from taking out the trash the longer he will have to wait to go home.The crazy joker comes at me swinging and this guy was 23 or 24 years old! Lucky for me I had older brothers and fought them in competition all the time and also knew Tae Kwon Do and beat the guys ass in front of several people that did not like him very much.

End result even through several witnesses said that it was self defense the owners threatened to call the cops on me for kicking their jerk managers ass thank god that may dad got them to realize they'd not like the legal result of said action but I did loose that job the manager received no punishment and I found that he attacked employees before and after me.So it is possible that whoever owns that particular MC Ds likes to hire jerks anyway.

The person will likely only get simple battery which in most places you can bail out for a few hundred bucks it is a low level misdemeanor.Now she could get sued in civil court as could the company as well whole nother ball game there.
