question about U-boats

I love u-boats firstly the VII german Type for SH5
But could any body make another type of U-boat?

The reason there is only one type is the demand for being able to walk through the entire boat. This took a lot of time to develop, so they were limited to the one type. A new type would require creating the entire interior and scripting the crew. It could be done but will take a lot of work and a long time.

Currently if you want to run other u-boat types you need to go back to SH3 or SH4. It all boils down to what you like more.

i think making another type of u boat would be an awesome idea......type vii does get slightly boring and need sub with longer range like type ix espically from drumbeat campagin

I was thinking about this the other day; if the interiors are what's causing the trouble, why not just reuse the stock interior 'rooms' & animations? Obviously there's the not-insignificant task of understanding all the stuff that's already there, but TDW and others are making big strides with the crew of late and their work is progressing well it seems. I reckon quite a few of us would be ok with a Type IX that had all the appropriate specifications/loadout etc, even if it meant still using the Type 7 interiors - and I can't imagine that the differences in layout would be that noticeable, given we don't even really have the 'whole' Type 7 to run around in as it is :D

Edit: Hehe, and no I can't be the one to make it... no skills in that department whatsoever! ;)
