Hello fellow submariners!
Just popped in to say hello!
I have been playing SH3 and 4 a lot in the past and just got started playing SH-series with SH5. I just wanted to say that I'm quite new to the subsim.com site and just now became registered to the forum to thank people.
The reason I'm new to subsim.com is because I picked up SH3 and SH4 after they had been around for quite a bit of time and had several patches out by the time I got started with them and all the serious issues had been ironed out; I followed the same logic with SH5 and got into it just a couple of days ago, installed the 1.2 patch, but still the game felt like it was rushed out of development a few months short. And this is patch 1.2, ugh.
I read the patch notes and it seemed like 1.0 was completely unplayable "beta release".
Seriously, ubisoft? I am a software engineer so I know how these things are, but games like these can't be rushed! Wonder how they keep making the same mistake? Just look at blizzard's Diablo games, they take forever to get the game out, but when it does - it'll be ready. Anyway, I didn't want to talk about this in my "hello thread".
So, after feeling like half of the game is missing, I started looking around for help with SH5 issues that I was having and came across this site and became aware that SH5 is moddable and followed stoianm's video guides how to set some up and would like to thank TheDarkWraith for his awesome UI mods that make the game feel complete. Thank you!
But now, I'm late for my patrol! Good hunting!
