Hi guys! I'd like some input on entertainment in the style of Twin Peaks. I'll try and elaborate a little. I absolute love the setting in Twin Peaks and the atmosphere is superb. I also liked the setting in the game Alan Wake.*
The film Fargo also is a favorite. I can also add something I vaguely remember; I think it's called the home praire companion. A radio show with Garyson Kealer.*
I would be very happy if anyone could suggest a Tv series, movie, game or book in this "genere". Please ask for clarification if I'm not making any sense!

Hmm... interesting topic! I'll admit to not having played Alan Wake, and engaged in Twin Peaks too late to really enjoy it, but Fargo was good, and A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor has some pretty good stuff (Guy Noir is one of my favorites).
Have you seen No Country for Old Men? That was the first thing that came to mind for me. Not quite the same feel, but there are similarities. Memento was sort of like that, too.
I'm sure the guys and gal here will come up with better suggestions than I; those were just the first ones I thought of.
Good luck! I'm looking forward to seeing what other ideas folks come up with.

No Country for old men, great movie. Only seen it once though. I'll add Blue Velvet to my list. I really like the non-urban no-heroes style. I'll also add The Shining as it fits this "genre". Maybe these things have a proper name?
EDIT: I know what THOSE things are called. Lol.
