... On whether to get SH5. Obviously, I would use mods, and I have a good idea of where to look.
Background: I adore SH3 with GWX. I added all the other fun mods with the better graphics more fun AIs officer thingy etc. I liked figuring out how to torpedo by hand (so lovely when it hits! so heartbreaking when it doesn't....). Also, Scapa Flow. On the realism setting. So. Fracking. Hard. to get out of after sinking the Royal Oak.
Anyways, I have a rather good computer (can play Metro 2033 and the like on high settings with a bout amount of texture filtering), and was looking to get back into the sub sim scene (damn HOI3 resparking my interest in incredible WWII simulators), but I've heard such varied things about SH5 I didn't want to jump into something I wouldn't enjoy that costs 30 bucks.
