*My Noob Questions*

I'm going to use this is ask questions as and when i get them, so if it appears the threat is being bumped, chill, i might have justed editted this op

1, Playing vanilla SH5, how do i get my desk gun crew to autofire at ships, or do I need to manually fire on them all the time?
Look at the desired target through binoculars and press space. The target should then be marked with a small yellow triangle underneath it, and the crew will start shooting it. Beware that in high waves crew will leave the gun every time it's awash, so you won't get many shots, if at all.

2, Can anyone tell me how to or point me to a guide for hunting down an aircraft carrier by spotting their planes
Generally there is no real 'strategy' per se. If you're in the middle of the Atlantic and getting buzzed by single engine planes it may be an aircraft carrier, although your best bet is to dive and avoid contact all together.

However, if you really need to sink a flat-top, check the different harbours around the UK (on the map) and it will tell you if there are any capital ships currently in port (i.e: Ark Royal, Royal Sovereign, Nelson, etc, etc)

Hope this helps :salute:

3, Is there anyway to view the patrol routes of ships im looking for?
Looking at the ship paths, open ME from SH5 main folder and then the campaign you are on.
On the right hand side of the screen you will see layers.
Right click on a layer to hide all others and leave you with the one you clicked.

Traffic = single ships
Convoys = convoys and escorts:D
Taskforce = warships

MissionEditor (exe) and is in your C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5 folder.
Select - file - open project - Total Germany.

4, Can anyone help me find the 5 ships in the blockade of germany mission please, maybe map coordinates and times of sightings? (if the route aren't random)

*My Finds*
heading key = north is 0, east is 90, south is 180, west is 270

145 miles north of Stornoway then 25 miles east - December 05th 1939 / 9.30am.
1 troop transport doing 17 knots, heading 160

75 miles north of Stornoway then 45 miles east - December 05th 1939 / 6.45am.
2 troop transports doing 14 knots, heading 340

200 miles east of Scapa Flow then 48 miles north - December 10th 1939 / 11.45pm.
2 troop transports doing 15 knots, heading 300

Aircraft Carrier 40 miles south of playmouth, heads south at 15 knots, heading 195, changes to a heading of 240 after about 70Km, on or just after December 14th 1939

5, Can someone explain total revealing (sonar guys skill) or point me to a guide that explains them all

Thanks in advance

1. As Radcapricorn stated observe with binoculars and press space, or if you're running Athlonics More Crew Commands Dialogue Mod (MCCD) you can also talk to your WatchOfficer and ask him to Man the Deckgun and have it at "Fire at Will"

Sure does thanks, just to query...

Is there no sure fire way of locating a carrier by observing/tracking planes? (i.e 4 bearing while submerged for ships)

Does anyone know the max range (maybe 450miles?)/speed of planes?

When you are far from land and you see planes flying over, watch their heading. Soon you may see them heading back the opp way. They must be heading back to the flat top.
So this can give you the bearing to flattop.

Tricky bit is the range.
How far and how fast can a plane fly?
Then think, how fast is the flattop.

As for looking at the ship paths, open ME from SH5 main folder and then the campaign you are on.

Yes ME is MissionEditor (exe) and is in your C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5 folder.
Double click to run it, then open a campaign from the top tabs:up:
