6Km Atmosphere??

Can someone make 6 or 5 km atmosphere mod compatible for GWX 3.0?that could fix my problem with low frame rates in horizont

I copied the enviro files from stock sh3, if you check out the 16k mod, you can find all the files you need to get from stock to fix all that...
Seems everyone wants to "fix" the game so you can't play it, eh?

Failing that, one time i went thru the scene.dat with sh3ditor and played with ummm... I can't remember the setting, but I got my world down to a controllable size that way once.
Can you play stock SH3 without fr drop/lag?

you mean gwx 3 without any mod? no,without mod i still get 10-12 fps in horizont

I meant Silent Hunter 3 v1.4b
no mods, no GWX, nothing

Did you run SH3 without anything before you GWX'd it?

Did you run Sh3 Detection Tool?
You can find it in Support folder in main sh3 folder.
Maybe your system is totally under game requirements?


Another way.
When you play a game, and 10-12 fps occured try to switch to windows desktop (by pressing Alt-TAB) and after that back to game. I noticed that sometimes it helps because probably video engine is reseted or sth. Maybe such switching helps you.

Nope i didnt run Silent Hunter without GWX 3.0
and I dont have detection tool????

Try to use " switch to desktop trick " maybe it helps you.

Are your frame rates constantly low, or does it spike? What are your computer specs? What extra mods including those that come with GWX are you running? Have you tried defragging your hard drive/reinstalling SH3?

There's alot of less extream things you can try before you start altering scripts. The simple fact that you don't seem to have the support folder might indicate a bad installation.

Oops, the above link points to GMA 3000 info, not GMA 3100. But it comes down to the same limitation, no hardware acceleration.

I doubt reducing the environment size is going to help much. Playability might even suffer severely, as they'll detect you as soon as you can them. It's like your are in dense fog weather all the time. You'll have to be extra carefull to attack at night. I would consider adding a better graphicscard.
