What is the quickest way to dive in shallow water, when aircraft are spotted.
By "crash dive" you go too deep, 40/70 M.

What is the best when the weather is clear, as long as allowed under water?

How shallow ? Maybe just knock a hole in the bottom of the boat and, use Bernard to plug it.:haha:

Avoid shallow waters ... an easy way, if there is a crisis, that allow you to navigate wrong, or equivalent.

With good sea keeping, great handling, and excellent habitability, these new boats could “crash dive” to periscope depth in 35 seconds.

Note: The introduction of the Salmon class was considered to be the point of entrance for the World War II “fleet” boat.

when I use the icon "crash dive" nothing happens at 3 knots, only a lot of noise(crew).:06:
When I am at "half speed"(nr.3)and use the icon "crash dive" everything works well. :)
when I use the icon "crash dive",why do I go to the radioman, not commandroom?

Cause UBI says so. ;) LOL

Might be possible to edit it in the cfg files, tho I've not tried and not sure it's possible to do. Just a thought, but someone might know.

Let me guess you're using TDWs UI mod? His crashdive has a delay of 30 seconds where you teleport to the radio room and then after 30 seconds Crash Dive is issued...

think it is 20s by default. But yeah, I would not be surprised.

Default is 20 seconds. This is to simulate the crew coming down the ladder and then closing the hatch. It is customizable in the options file.

How fast would it be in real time?
When the crew is going down the ladder, the boat have to dive amost the same time......I think:hmmm:

well, considering that there are at least 2-3 people on the deck (generally 3, not counting the captain), I would say that 20seconds is moderately close. The actial dive might start a bit before the hatch is closed, but still. I mean, you can easily lower this delay editing UserOptions.py

20 seconds sounds about right. If your keen on diving quickly, just order flank speed and a depth of 30 meters (unless in very shallow waters).

Its faster then crash diving in my experience.
