This is the new British spy thriller starring: Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy, along with Oscar winner Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Stephen Graham and Benedict Cumberbatch. It's only a quick first trailer, but it's a glimpse of what's to come, and it looks like it's going to be quite a fascinating vintage spy thriller. Focus Features has this scheduled for release November 18th in the US.

You sold me at Gary Oldman. I'm sooo seing this
Bet it will not be as good as BBC seven part series back in the 1970's. Alex Guinness played the part of George Smiley. Very close to the book it was, the film will be a cut down version but I am going to see it just to see how good it is.

The BBC did the follow up as well bringing George Smiley once again played by Alex Guinness out of retirement as Smiley takes on his old nemesis Carla in Smiley's People.
Both are on DVD.

Tinker Tailor as it states is a Mole hunt, the story moves backwards and forwards of a six month period. Smiley's People is more of a puzzle and only by the final two episodes the piece's fit together.

I wish they had taken the expense to make The Honourable Schoolboy series, far and away my favourite Le Carre novel :)
This looks fantastic though
There are three of them, and Alleline.

Very odd that one, never under stood that myself.
The best film version of his books...The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Richard Burton as Alex Limus.
