Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has threatened to attack Europe in revenge for Nato's operations in Libya.

Col Gaddafi said Libya would target European "homes, offices, families" unless Nato stopped its campaign.

He spoke via an audio message broadcast to tens of thousands of supporters gathered in a central Tripoli square.

His message comes after France confirmed it had supplied weapons to anti-government rebels, delivering arms to Berber tribal fighters near Tripoli.

In the broadcast, played via loudspeakers to gathered crowds in the capital's Green Square, he called on supporters to "march on the western mountains", the area where the weapons had been delivered.

'Like locusts'

Then he warned Europe that Libyans would seek revenge.

"These people [the Libyans] are able to one day take this battle [...] to Europe, to target your homes, offices, families, which would become legitimate military targets, like you have targeted our homes," he said.

"If we decide to, we are able to move to Europe like locusts, like bees. We advise you to retreat before you are dealt a disaster," he added.

His message come just days after the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Col Gaddafi, his son Saif al-Islam and Libyan intelligence chief Abdullah al-Sanoussi for crimes against humanity.

No, it's not impossible.
And the process was begun a long time ago.

No, it's not impossible.
And the process was begun a long time ago. It's not completely unknown as Libya, has "pumped out terrorist cells" for a long time.

He does have the willingness and resources to carry out his threats :hmmm:

Let's hope the rebels win then. This threat goes to show the pressure that Gaddafi is feeling from NATO bombing. So he is saying the damage assessment so far is heavy losses on his own forces and the destruction of command center operations. :O:

When that comes from the receiving end side, you better believe it.

Pro Gaddafi rally amazed me though. That was some display of support . . . . or fear . . . . both are difficult to differentiate in public.

Only one question to me. Is he actually the baddest ruler in Africa and Arab world . . .looking at Bahrain and now Syria. The way he handled the uprising I must say the most with blood on his hands. But what is the difference between killing one random people to killing many random people? I mean both are too cruel. So I can't say Syria is better nor Bahrain.

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi should stop issuing threats against Europeans and resign instead, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says.

"Gaddafi should put the well-being and the interests of his own people first and he should step down from power," Mrs Clinton said in Spain.

Col Gaddafi threatened on Friday to attack European "homes, offices, families" unless Nato stopped bombing.

Nato is enforcing a UN resolution to protect civilians from Gaddafi forces.

"The Nato-led mission is on track. The pressure on Gaddafi is mounting and the rebels have been gaining strength and momentum. We need to see this through and we are in complete agreement that we will," Mrs Clinton said in Madrid.
'Retreat'

Speaking alongside Mrs Clinton, Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez said "Spain's and the international coalition's response is to maintain the unity and determination with which we have been working these past months".

Way back in the '80's when We bombed his arse?
Forces were in place to take him out with a single,
well placed, amount of lead.

That Mission was called off.

Bet there's a few people wishing they could go back and change THAT call!

Never underestimate Qaddafi. A guy who can keep control in a nutcase country like Libya for as long as he has is about as crazy as a fox.

Besides, why the hell is NATO and Obama supporting al quaida and other terrorist groups in their attempts to gain control over the middle east politically? It's friggin insane.

Umm that's easy, it's because Al-Qaeda has nothing to do with the Arab awakening.

When one says "My fighters are members of Al-Qaeda" does one need to say much more?

Maybe in Libya but Al-Queda were not involved in Tunsia, Egypt or Bahrain (the last is linked to Sunni-****te tensions and the latter are not at all pro-AQ).

No but members of the Muslim brotherhood like Ragab Hilal Hamida (a recently elected Egyptian MP) have been vocal in their support for AQ.

And what is going in Bahrain has links to Iran so should not really be considered part of the Arab Spring.

The LIFG was an affiliate of AQ in the past. Many members were captured and "deradicalization" by the regime in prison. They were released a little over 2 years ago. Now they are fighting the regime with the rebels.

Still no article then?
Oh well
The LIFG was an affiliate of AQ in the past.
Yes and they had a very big falling out just like AQ had fallings out with other groups fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Chad, Indonesia, Mali...... which is probably why the article didn't say what you thought it said and why the "quote" you used when you pushed it again wasn't a quote at all.

AQ wants to be part of it for sure:

AQ wants to be part of everything, it doesn't make it the case though does it.
Do you notice that the Libyan Al-Qaida bloke in that Bozell piece happens to be the nut that was kicked out of the Libyan group of nuts?

Strange bit in that first piece though, Al-qaida,hezballah??????
Is the admiral just throwing names around?

“We have freelance jihadists,” he said. “But everything is still under control of the interim national council (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/interim-national-council/). There is no other organization that says, ‘We are leaders of the revolution with this emir,’ like al Qaeda (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/al-qaeda/) would. Everyone is afraid to do this; they would be labeled as undermining the people.”

I wonder what will happen when Da Man is gone.
Probably all will join liberal labor party and let the people decide -this kind of dudes they are.
