View Full Version : A Question to all GT Readers...

I have been a part of the GT section for quiete some time and in that time i have noticed that there are, amongst differing views, a diverse taste in what is being responded to by the posters.
I consider myself a 'bit of everything' type of poster, in that i like to post worldly matters/issues, current affairs if you will, and also i like to post different stuff too. Be it humorous, be it outright bizarre or a link to a interactive and educational website.
So, having said that, i'd like to conduct a poll to see what readers here enjoy the most.
Do you like to read only current affairs? Do you enjoy humour? Do you enjoy a smattering of both? Or are you a person who enjoys picture posts or forum games only?

I like the humourous pictures and stuff like that. The political stuff gets too emo too fast.

I like humorous, tech and gaming posts & a good shock post every now and then to keep the community on their toes.

I involve myself in current events threads, I enjoy the humorous ones, I play in the SubSim Fantasy Football League and I am a player in the Werewolf Hunt. Overall, I enjoy it all.
Current affairs & the occasional military topics we have.

I like any thread wherein Dowly's signature makes an appearance.

Why is the total number of votes make a total percent equal 187.50%

Because the poll allowed for people to select multiple options.

To illustrate what is wrong with GT. Too emo too fast. :nope:

A mixture of all...
To be honest, I read the political threads as well, but I won't comment in them.
What Platapus said: +1
No votes for sport, looks like they should all be dumped. So what will fill the sport gap?

A little story if I may.......................
I met Neal in person at the SS Meet in Texas and the first night some of us gathered at his house and as you can imagine the conversational topics were wide and diversified.
One of the topics consisted of a question around the need for a GT section at SS and IIRC Neals response was something along the lines of "Well that is the place where people can go to discuss topics of interest potentially of sole importance to themselves...thus negating the need to disrupt other threads that were specifically focussed on what the original poster in other threads intended".
I fully agree....provided the thread doesn't develop into something that breaches the SS rules.
'Enjoy the GT section, don't abuse it' is something I personally try to adhere to.

Did you know that that thread initially started as a guy asking what "bump" meant? The one you like now is actually the fourth incarnation of that thread.

I'm another for 'all of it', but that doesn't mean I read 'all of it' - I occasionally bite at the political cherry, but only UK-wise. I occasionally partake in a sports thread, but never to do with hand-egg or rounders, maybe motorsports and a little bit of footy.
Currently 1876 post in the Four-Word Story Game, so I think that tops my poll :D
Tech and Humerous also appeal.
So, aloong with Current Affairs, that's 'all of it' then. :O:
