Appearing to have a problem here.

Have been asked to infiltrate an anchorage up near Korea and photograph some carriers there, have managed to sneak in past the stationary escorts, but EVERY time I raise one of the periscopes and try to look through it.......the game crashes to desktop......without fail.

Doesn't matter if I do it with the obseravation or attack scope. Result is the same!! How on earth can I photograph anything if the game won't even let me look through the scope without crashing?

I have tried SIX times now to do this, and SIX times the game has just crashed out everytime I go to look through the scope. I don't even know what kinda frickin carrirs they are......they could be whopping fleet carriers for all I know (unlikely though as its mid 43 and I think Japan had lost their fleet carriers at Midway anyway).

Should I just skulk away, sink a crap load of tonnage to make up for it and apologise to COMSUBPAC later? :D

Running Uboat Add ons with the latest TM Mod for reference, though I don't think it matters as I've NEVER had this issue before.

Since you have a saved game, it would be cool, if you would like to test the LAA patch :yeah:

To be found here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=112556

Some tests here (see post #14 and 15): http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=177503

I suffered the same problem for a couple of years until someone like Jan led me to the LAA solution. I have not had a single crash regardless of the demands placed on the video cards by crowded harbours, nightime searchlights, brilliant explosions, or the like. Please follow Jan's advice, and you will immensely improve your satisfaction with the game.

And Good Hunting! :salute:

In that very same mission (and though the missios states you're going to photograph carriers, it's actually an airplane tender, not a CV, right?) i too experienced some bugs. But not a crash: what happened is that I could photograph as much as I wanted, from as close as I liked (though there is a subnet there somewhere that prevents you from getting too close), and the mission simply will not report as completed.
