Style of that editorial looks a bit partisan in my opinion. I agree that "Fast and Furious" is little  suspicious but without evidence this is just one more conspiracy theory.
Just another failed attempt to demonies guns by the left, I can't believe our tax dollars pay for this bafooniery, well then, we also paid millions for a dozen people to go on a round the world all expences paid trip to study billboards:har::har::har:

So the BATF wanted to track the guns but stopped at the border where they have no jurisdiction. All that proves is that the Guns the Violent drug cartels bought went to Mexico. Brilliant! And I bet if the ATF sold guns to Ghadaffy duck they would go to Libya!
By powers of common sense the goal could not have even come close to what was described. And even senators are making the gun control connection, not really conspiracy theory, more like about to be proven fact. But time will tell I guess.
This is another Weiner moment they got caught doing something they weren't suppose to do because of arrogance and stupidity, they will lie about it and point fingers, the problem with it now, is that people died on both sides of the border and no one will ever be held accountable. So when are we going to hold these officals accountable for their actions????????????????
