Now this is mighty cool:

18,000 frames per second. That’s what it takes to make one of the most destructive forces in the battlefield turn from fire-spitting hate dragon to beautiful.
The tank is a Russian T-90 (http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2010/07/flaming-helmets-dancing-tanks-at-russian-arms-expo/), a third-generation 46.5-tonne beast with a steel-composite-reactive blend armor, shooting a 125mm shell.
The camera is a Photron (http://www.photron.com/), a high speed, ultra high definition camera made for scientific analysis. It’s also made to blow your knickers off.
Watch this:

I find it funny that the Soviet Union, and the Russians today are strapped for cash and lacking the money to use fuel for training, etc.

Yet they can waste the fuel to do a tank ballet...

Nice link though thank you!

Is that one of those funky Russian gun launched ATGMs? I think I can see a wire trailing the round. :hmmm:

I think @TLAM strike may be right about it being a gun launched ATGM ,if you pause at 2-3 seconds the round looks like its unfolding control wings at the rear ,it's definitely not a sabot round dumping the shoe ,its too big for that.

I still don't see a trail wire, assuming they're wire guided AT Missiles.. Or maybe similar to the Hellfires and rides a laser beam to the target?

Edit: Yeep thats a fin stabilized round. The Russian T90 tank fires the AT-11 (Nato Sniper) that is laser guided and thus has no trailing wire.
