Does it exist? If so, I am curious where you found it. I have noticed the more "exotic" merchants/tankers are in convoys, but by far it seems the HMS Aquitania is the prize of all merchants if you will.

She does exist but she's a prize you need to hunt for. In standard GWX she's scripted for 11 months in 1940 and just 2 weeks in 1944.

There's also a chance you'll meet her in a convoy throughout the war, but unless you're a fan of convoy attacks it's unlikely you'll see her unless you add her routes in yourself.

Sunk the her only last week, yes it was 1940.

Ok thanks for the info. I figured she would be pretty rare. As my current career is in the late months of 1940 if I am gonna find her it will have to be pretty quick. If she does show up in convoys I won't mind too much though, she would definitely be the target if i saw her!

I ran into it completely randomly (also 1940) off the irish coast.
Have the patrol log data from SH3 commander.

I've encountered and sunk her many times in grid BE56 in 1940. Surprisingly, she is especially vulnerable to cannon fire (maybe 12 rounds worth), which should not be. At 45,500 GRT, she should take at least 4 eels to sink, but I've done it with one. Perhaps this is an Easter Egg in GWX?

Park just a tad due south of the letters "BE56" and wait. There is apparently a routing for lone troopships and the Aquatania running from WSW to ENE.

As a bonus, there are also routings for tankers an equal distance due north of "BE56", also running WSW to ENE.

Just sitting there, waiting for the prey to come to you turns GWX into something of a "shooter", but you get surprised by aircraft at times. Convoys do come through come through, but most seem to prefer BE67 and BE64.

Late in the war she appears in many convoys, or at least a ship just like her. :)

For a while I was bagging her in every mission!

Also there is some bug with her where she is damaged/sinking from the start, and will fall out of formation, and you can go back and bag her as a straggler.

Yeah, I've seen that. Took just one hit from the deck gun, but it still took hours for her to completely disappear under the waves.

First time I saw her was off the coast of Africa. it was a two-ship group, one destroyer, one 45k ton liner. Having only heard them on my submerged approach, you could imagine my surprise when I popped up the periscope (It was high noon on a clear day, I wasn't taking any chances). Fired four eels, got the "She's going down!" and subsequent forward torpedo room audio clip from Das Boot after the first one hit (so i guess you could say I wasted three... that boat must have awful damage control...) I've since seen her in convoys ranging from the North Atlantic to the Indian Ocean.

What's ironic is that she was built for the Cunard Line in a group of liners called the "grand trio" which also consisted of RMS Mauretania and RMS Lusitania... Lusitania... Where have I heard that name before...

As it so happens, the first ship I found in the first career I started since getting back into SH3 was the Aquitania, sailing alone in the western approaches in June 1941. Wasn't able to get into perfect position in time, so turned around and fired off stern tubes- one hit. Two torpedoes in exchange for 45k tons is a pretty good bargain. Hello, 75k ton patrol...
