Just sad I'll not be at Waddington this year to see her again. :wah:
And if you like that, you may also like this 60th anniversary Hunter formation. :yeah:

Tremendous!!......The roar of those Olympus engines is really quite unique
There used to be a Vulcan at the Washington Air Museum 4/5 miles from where I live.

Awesome video - and I never new 101 sqn used to fly them! I was based at Brize Norton as a medic during the early 2000's where 101 are homed flying the VC10.
A wonderful piece of history.
Great plane.
British had some most interesting and original cold war airplane designs.

awesome awesome awesome!!! They really are a stunning aircraft, bloody huge yet are still as maneuverable and as graceful as a fighter.
Never seen one at a air show taking off which is a pity but have seen two or three here in Museums and one of by favourite aircraft. :yeah:

I always thought it was a cool looking bomber.
I wonder why it is painted camo on the underside?

That's an interceptor not a bomber/strike aircraft :DL

But it is very unusual. :03:
Then again the Nimrod is not a Fighter but it's been known to carry AIM-9 Sidewinders. :hmmm:

What a beauty! I used to have Airfix's 1/72-scale model, but it got burned up in a fire before I ever got a chance to build it.

I built a 1:48 scale Hawker Hunter when I was younger and couldn't get over the shape of the wings. I wasn't accustomed to seeing a curved leading edge like many of the British jets had during that era. A curious thing about the model kit is that it included a small rubber band for the ejection seat, which would pop out through the bottom of the fuselage when triggered. Didn't take long to wear out that part of the assembly. :DL
Watching the video of the Hunters. I think the model I built was of the same production model as the third ship that taxis past the camera. Nice to see those lines again. :salute:

A piece of iconic British engineering:salute:
Lets hope they can keep her flying for as long as possible.

Been a few years since I visited both museums, I heard Duxford was planning a British dome like the American one they have.
