View Full Version : I can't tell if I'm going to be hired or not x_x

I went to a job interview last Friday, and it appeared to go quite well. He told me that he wanted to check and arrange the hours to see if he can fit me in for weekend shifts, and that he would get back to me next week.
It's Wednesday now and I hadn't gotten a call back, so I called the manager today who told me that he wasn't finished putting the hours together yet and would email me.
I know I should have just asked, but I'm usually too anxious talking to potential employers to think properly, so I can't tell if I'm hired or not. It's like I'm in employment limbo.http://img.socialanxietysupport.com/forum/images/smilies/plain.gif
What do you think? What should I do?

Be patient.
Some employers like the fact that job seekers seem keen and check up on the progress of their application. Others don't, they get annoyed.
There is a fine line to be trodden here, so don't be too aggressive in your phone calls/emails to check on the progress.
And yea, keep looking.
Good luck btw :salute:

GOOD NEWS! He actually called me back a half hour later and told me that he definitely wanted to put me to work and in training for next week, and would have his assisstant email me the hours in the next few days!
I mean, I don't technically have the job yet, and could lose it at any point for now, but WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! :D
phewwww. at the very least that took care of the anxiety.

Congrats, but don't stop looking just in case things change. Heck I often keep looking while still employed just for better opportunities.
