How to edit my username

I would appreciate some help in changing my "displayed\username" .
If one you fellow mariners would please point me to where exactly
in the "edit signature\profile" panel i should be looking.

Or do I have to contact the "tower" to do this?

LOL...you may find it just as easy to ask Neal if he would be willing to delete your existing account and allow you to create a new one.
