View Full Version : Sound directional and volume issues

I am running Windows 7 and Creative x-fi gamer pro, and nVidia 3 d vision.

I noticed when viewing battles that the volume of distant gunfire and shell splashes are the same regardless of distance. This makes the battles confusing when you hear a close up gun fire or a close up shell splash, and you look around for the source and figure out that the source is 3500 meters away. Also, I noticed when panning and moving the view around that sometimes gunfire or shell splashes can be visually in front of me, but the sound might be behind me or vice versa. Too, I hear shell splashes in front and behind me, but I often don't see anything, and so I guess that they might actually be somewhere else far away in some other part of the battle. These things really mess up the emersion factor.

Is there some way to improve the direction and volume of the sound to be more correct? Thanks.
