Hi New Skippers! Welcome to SUBSIM!
Post here with a little bit about yourself, what sub games you play, how you got started in sub games, how you found out about SUBSIM, and how many times you have to wash the dishes at your house.

At the moment I am playing SH5 but I have also played SH3
I love most video games to do with WW2

Hello fellow submariners!
My name is Igor and i like sub and plane simulations that deal with WW2.
As for subsimulators I have played silent service 2, silent hunter I & IV, 688 (modern subs), but I have to save my top honors for SH III GWX gold mod. I found about subsim forum sometime ago when i got interested in SH IV mod Battle for the Baltic. I tried it and I take my hat off to SOM team for developing it. It is really hard - mines are everywhere, but I also like that subs can lay mines - important task for almost all Allied subs in WW2.
I wish there would be more mods for SH III especially for the Allied or Italian and Japanese submarines.
Good hunting!
p.s. -about the dishes - i am in my late 30' so I clean them when fancy takes me - usually when the sink is full.

Hi,
My name is Zack. I'm 21 this year. I was looking for a full size map and it lead me here. Nice to see such community around.
I'm playing SH5 now but started off with 688 hunter/killer 2 years ago. My interest started when I saw this submarine ad by the local navy.
It wasn't glorifying but it showed how the captain commanded the crew. And also if you guys have watched the movie the curious of benjamin
button, that submarine scene left a deep impression on me.
P.S. Hello to all you submariners :salute:

Welcome aboard guys :salute:
I never wash the dishes, but I do load the dishwasher - I used to fix them and so know how not to load it correctly, my wife doesn't seem to understand that if you put in something light, and plasticky without something keeping it down then the force of the water will push it about till it flips and fills up! :nope: Yes, I am anal about it. :o

Hi, my name is nik, i have been a fan of subsims since us gold first released subsims for the commodore 64. Love sh4, bought sh 5 and was so dissapointed with it i havent touched it for nearly a year. However, finding your awesome site and the great mods here, the game is not only playable but almost as enjoyable as sh4. just getting to grips with jsgme and looking forward to getting some realisitc tdc installed and perhaps an improved deck gun , if anyone wants to give me pointers on which mods for this are best, i would very much appreciate it :)
Hello Simrades,
I had troubles registering here, that's the reason for the strange nick.
My real name is Matthew (Matthias) and I come from germany.
My first subsim was silent service on the C'64. Another strategic subsim I played on the C'64 was Red storm rising. Absolutely perfect subsim.
After I got a PC, my next subsim was Aces of the deep. Since now the best subsim ever, IMHO.
After that I played Silent hunter II. Wasn't so impressed. Next was Sub command and the last I remember Silent hunter III. IV I have too, but haven't played it yet. Now I really want to play old but stunning game panzer commander but I have serious troubles with crashes, due to modern hardware and OS.
That's all folks.:salute:

Salute to all the Subsim people. A real life as a technician working with water, -on the surface and below-, was not enough. I needed too a "virtual" life in water. Fond of History, respecting the Military virtues, and being a technology fanatic, what better than Subs? Since "Das boot" (The old game; the TV series / film came a bit later i think) i´ve played almost all sub playable sim. But, as a "hardcore" sim player it´s really because of the modders than i keep on playing. And Subsim has gathered almost them all. Wish i had the time to contribute, but i´m afraid i´m only a "downloader", being difficult for me to "upload" because of real life obligations. But one never knows...
My regards then to all around Subsim, raising my glass of spanish wine. Cheers. Salud!

Hello everybody!!
while surfing in silence for a few weeks into this great forum think its time to surface and say Hello.
how how got into this, well first of all I'm (also :O:) a real fanatic of realism games specialy simulators. im involved in Rfactor sim racing developmen team for historic F1 racing cars, I don't have skills in modding but i orginize and doing research, having good people around me which do unbelievable things to crank up the realism.
Like people here which i have already great respect for:
TDW:up:
Steelviking:up:
Zedi ) ( need some help for research?)
Reaper7:up:
Enviromental mod guys !!
and specialy Stoianm for his great vids of explanation :yeah:
and all others i didn't mentioned but doing great things
the main reason how i got here was because of a video i saw on youtube
by J2JonJeremy and saw the new mods imported by subsim.com
next day I went to the store and bought the game , salesman says its not good ,**** it i dont care cause i saw what people can do with it:haha:
and here we are

Hello everyone,
Been a long time reader of subsim, especially for the news articles. I've been playing SH on and off since SH3, but still find myself reluctant to get SH5. I'm still very much a fan of surface warfare (can't wait for "Red Pill"), but occasionally I'll "slum" and hunt beneath the waves.
Anyways, happy to be here.

Been playing SH3 with GWX for a while, a bit of SH4 with RFB. Gotta say, this community is fantastic. I'm still finding new things to add to SH3 all the time and loving it.

Hello Skippers,
Actually I am from the other side of the fence in that I am an ex P3 driver that hunted subs, so I thought it would be a good idea to see how the other half lives.
Having watch my son shoot everything on the earth and in space, including zombies and other undead creatures, I wanted to try something that used your brain more than your trigger finger, SH4 fits that bill for me.
Looking forward to getting better at the game and learning more about the available mega MODS.

Hey Everyone!!!
45 yr old Geezer gamer and I followed the Darpa Actuv sim here. I do have a very (and I am using very VERY liberaly) small amount of DW experience under my belt but I always loved the Silent Hunter series. Now I know it isn't a true sim but hey I like it. I also play quite a few FPS' but was looking into this Darpa chingadera and decided to register for the site. Look forward to being here.
Thanks for the space!!

I am a noob when it comes to mods, but they really are necessary in some of these releases. This is especially true when we reference the footsteps in SH5....
I'm a big fan of the Silent Hunter franchise and I am also looking forward to snagging DCS A-10C and IL-2 Cliffs of Dover. That should round out my sim fix for a while.

After playing Silent Service in 1985 (like so many others I suppose), I've never lost interest in the genre. At times it seemed like none of the more able companies would have any interest in making a decent sub sim, and I feel there's still a lot of room for improvement.
Like what the hell did they think with Silent Hunter 5, eh?
Nevertheless, I'd like to use this opportunity to take my hat off for anyone involved with making the mods. I'm impressed and yearn for a game that would truly let you run wild.
