Woo - I'm finally 17 - and I'm still not old! When can I get old?

Why I posed for that... Is a damn good question...
I'm getting another car for my B-Day. My parents are so old (late 60's) that they're blowing whatever inheritance I would get on me early.
But what I really want is a freaking job.
Congratulations on the birthday, and I hope it gives you much joy, :yeah:

Happy Birthday :woot:
I think you'll find you'll upset quite a few members here by referring to being in their 60's as old.:o You'll be there one day, admittedly not until 2054, but you'll get there!
That's 20 years after me

Lol I got that phase over with last night
Did you know beer helps you get women? Since I was nearly knocked out (as is tradition for my brothers and I to do on our B-days) I was mellow enough that when the hottest woman I know started messaging, I managed to get her interested

LATE 60's lol
Personally I just want my turn! When can I be so old I babble like an idiot and call fat chicks "Shamu" in the mall?

It approaches quicker and quicker every year, from 17 to 25 takes seemingly forever and then after that it increases. In your mid-30's you'll be wondering where all the time has gone. And it carries on getting worse.

Happy Birthday!:woot:
from the youngest guy yet to post in this thread
Heh, I always used to not give it a second thought when I heard about people talking about events of their past, like JFK and the Cuban Missile Crisis, but now it seems strange to me that there is a generation of people who were born after the wall came down, or after 9/11.
It's a stupid thing to say, I know, but it's just one of those things.
Anyway, congrats and Happy Birthday! Funnily enough I was seventeen when I first joined up here, I'm 27 now. Trust me, getting old will come when you're not expecting it. :03:
If you want a preview of it, try and keep up with computer technology. :haha:

For comparison's sake - you're still in what I graduated from before you were born...
Leave it to the little guys to make a guy feel old. Happy birthday, you bastard. :D:D

Woo - I'm finally 17 - and I'm still not old! When can I get old?
Be careful what you wish for. You can joke about being rude in the mall, but the reality is not something to look forward to.
My parents are so old (late 60's) that they're blowing whatever inheritance I would get on me early.
They must have started late. :hmmm: When I was your age my dad wasn't even 50 yet.

I will be 47 this fall but my older sister turned 59 and my older brother turned 69 earlier this year. I was, as they put it in their kinder moments, the "surprise."
Still not quite the 20-year gap your mum got surprised with though. But I can remember being in high school and having not only veteran teachers who were younger than my parents, but veteran teachers whose parents were younger than my parents.
In some ways it sucks but in other ways it's kind of cool - because my parents were young during the Depression and WWII, I grew up getting a lot of exposure to things that a lot of kids my age knew nothing about - like "pop culture" and firsthand history from that era. Plus I still got schooled in stuff from subsequent generations by my siblings.

Really? I honestly got the impression you were atleast a generation younger? :sunny:
P.S. I'm the oldest of my brother and cousins and 35 now. Got my first car just a month ago. Some just wake up late in the day.

I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys'R'Us kid!
Makes sense, I didn't really start to feel like an adult until my late 20s. Still don't act like one a good deal of the time. :O:

Turned 60 last December, but feel and look much younger. I didn't really start to age until I reached about my 40's, or as I like to put it "I hit 40 and 40 hit back"...
Oh, and happy birthday, whippersnapper. I have socks older than you...
Happy Birthday, for a minute, I thought I was the old guy, yesterday I went to bed I was 20, woke up this morning, I'm lookin at 50 in July.

I'm told I look younger than 61, and I certainly act it, but some days I feel more like 91. :dead:

That's an affirm. I think I realize my age more when I'm walking; lately, I've noticed more pedistrians passing me by than I used to remember...
