Thank you mates. My birthday was in the 16 of this month, there was a thread here about it.
My father give me the second painting yesterday. He likes to paint to rest and relaxation, and fun. He does mainly water colors, since it was what he learn more. Has I say, he can draw and paint and I can not do a strait line. He was a son of a tailor and a seamstress/dressmaker and he can not sew, I can sew even with a old pedal sewing machine...

@matador.es, the first paint he drew from a picture (as the second) but the picture is from a ww1 boat, that he did a turm from the type VII, my father didn't know the mistake. The second is also from a photo from one of the u-boat books that I have.

Reminds me a bit of my grandfather, got a lovely painting of the Titanic hanging in the front porch. In a way, it's good that he does it for relaxation. I once asked my grandfather if he'd ever considered doing paintings and selling them, and he replied that he did it purely for the love of doing it, and if he started doing them to a deadline or to order then it would be a job and not a hobby, and it's rare that jobs are as enjoyable as hobbies.

Your father has a awesome talent for drawing. I'm envious of this talent. He has the ability to capture the uboat as it was. We have several watercolor renderings of nautical themes, mostly shipwrecks on the shores, that are very similar in feeling. I could only dream of creating such artwork as this. I'm sure you will enjoy these for years to come.

Beautiful.:yeah:
