Hi Guys,
So this is it: i am currently runing the NYGM supermod (and nothing else), and though great, i don't like the interface, which is pretty much similar to stock version. It is cumbersome and not access-friendly. I've seen some screenshots from you seasoned skippers and i noticed that some screenshots display a diferent u-boat interface - closer to what SH4's interface looks like, with lots of handy buttons and so on.
What exactely is that mod, or what interface mod would you guys sugest?

Let me be a bit clearer: I am OVERWHELMED with the many mod possibilities, and when I see what other posters are using, I go check the downloads page and find nothing! HELP A BROTHER OUT, will'ya?

Well if you were running GWX I could help out, but I'm unfamiliar with NYGM, so I don't know which mods are compatible with it.
If you go to the download section, try sorting them by number of downloads. The most popular will be on top then.
Usually, in the description you'll find if it's compatible. Otherwise there's usually a read-me included with that info.
Also, every once in a while a topic comes a long where people post a screenshot with a list of all the mods they are using. Try using the advanced search function to find these topics.
Are you looking for graphics mods? Gameplay? Sound? All of the above? Again, the advanced search tool is your friend. Helped me find a lot of good ones.
And there's a member here (Plissken 04 I believe) who keeps track of all the mods that are posted, and hosts them on his own server or something. They are sorted by the name of their authors however... So you have got to know the name of the mod author first. But it has literally got all the mods that were ever uploaded here I believe. Link:

Good luck.
*edit* Just read your first post mentioning the interface mods. Well there are a couple of different (and very good looking) options out there, but most tend to change a lot of your interface. And some of them require you to change the way you play a lot (that's not a bad thing; it just takes some getting used too). However I don't use them so I don't know all their names. Found these two though, they seem to be quite popular:

Maybe some one else can help out with more.

I use MaGui, but I also like OLC 1.2.7 or OLC II Gold.
It's mostly the same interface, but ultimately, I love the button placement and how much it allows me to take care of myself. I highly recommend them.

MaGui is def not for beginners tho. Ive played Sh3 for years on and off and i still havent perfected basically any of the uboot commander tactics yet. lol. To complicated for a simpleton like me. But im getting there.

Thanks a lot guys.
Hey Bakkels! I'm willing to drop NYGm for GMX. I actually tried to, but, again, the download page puzzles me and I cant differ a main supermod from a patch or a secondary download.
What exactely is the GMX main supermod, or its most popular addons?

If you decide to download it, get it from Jimbuna's Filefront page. IIRC this is currently the only guaranteed source of complete and uncorrupted GWX3 files.

For complete info on GWX3 the best source is the manual... you can download it by itself here:

The GWX manual can be extremely intimidating when you first open her up. Just keep in mind that a very large portion of it is devoted to describing in detail the various coordinated u-boat operations that took place and are scripted into the game, as well as details on the various allied warships. All of which are useful, but no necessary to start making patrols and learning the lay of the land. The manual has a lot of pictures so when I say the first 100 pages or so are (roughly guesstimating) the ones important to learning gameplay it's not as bad as it sounds. There are a lof of visual diagrams and screenshots that show you the basics so its not like sitting down and reading a technical book with nothing but walls of text.
MaGui's ultimately become my favorite interface; its got everything you need and best of all its widescreen version is designed explicitly to be used on a widescreen. It doesn't just stretch the interface but keep all the ratios correct and all the geometry is still correct. Its also got a number of optional plug-ins that can help make using it easier and/or more realistic depending on your tastes.

What I would like to know is what interface mod is the most realistic ( as far as manual tdc go). As in what would a real uboot commander use? I think I read somewhere that attack disks weren't on the uboat. Hitmans gui for gwx is what I've been playing with but then I switched to rapheals mod (forgot actual name) and I love seeing my hands on the binoculars.
