I have:
-re-downloaded it
-Uninstalled the game completely from previous use

Can anyone help?

Thanks

I don't know what your problem is; with SH3 removal from Vista and presumably with Win7, there is a folder called virtual store/ubisoft or virtual store/SilentHunterIII which maintains a copy, and this must be removed manually after the uninstall. (C:/users/yourcomputername/applicationData/local/virtual store/Ubisoft)
The registry must also be cleaned to remove all traces of SilentHunterIII and Ubisoft. There may also be a registry key in an InstallShield folder which keeps reintroducing the information that SilentHunterIII is installed into the registry that must be deleted.
I upgraded my vista to win7. I had uninstalled SH5 on vista long before the upgrade, but when the windows7 was finished installing, I had SH5 on my computer.
I have no idea how this happened but it did.
There is a program in vista and win7 called shadow that may also keep a copy of a program. I don't know how this works or if it may be your problem.

To summarize, I don't know what your problem is but you might try a few of the suggestions to see if it helps.
