Recently I moved house and unfortunately there is no ADSL broadband, only wireless!:damn: This is much more expensive with only Bigpond available and with a 12gb limit costs me $90/mth. Now I discover that the device deliberately disables the LAN connection on installation and all attempts to change the settings, even unplugging the modem, will not fix the problem.:shifty:
Unfortunately I'm locked into a 2 year contract/plan but even so I don't really have a choice.
Someone mentioned that the answer is to purchase a Netcomm 3G Wireless N150 Router, I'm not a guru when it comes to lans, w-lans, routers, hubs, wifi etc etc but can someone tell me what the router does and will it fix my lan problem? All advice welcome. :yep:
Thanks.

Lan Connection?
I presume your talking about having a local area network? Your current network hardware does not allow you to create a local area network?

In this case buying a router will probably solve your problem.

I have a friend who's really savvy on this subject. Let me call him right now and report back to you. Just take a few minutes.

I'M sure it doesn't matter your Down Under and were Up Here. :DL

Be right back. :salute:Please don't bother FIREWALL, I just got a phone call from Bigpond (ISP) from an email I sent yesterday, they say that this particular usb wireless modem will not work with a router, anyway without any fees or penalties they are changing me over to a wifi Bigpond/gateway router for the cost of the router only of $199, so I am very pleased, they even reduced the monthly fees by $10/mth!
The downside is that I have to change my email address again and buy 2 wifi adapters!
Thanks FIREWALL for the trouble you have gone to.:yep:
