Well I do hope that I cause no offence....but....
Ive tried my best with SH5. I came in with an open mind. Tweaked and played. I have a great PC which enabled me to see some amazing graphics. Howver I found the gameplay, plot scenarios & crew to all be way too restrictive.
Where SH4 is immersive and & open SH5 is too set piece and planned.
Its a real shame as I think that UBI missed a trick here. If you could mix the open free gameplay of SH4 with the graphics of SH5, wow!
All of what I love about SH4 is missing in SH5.
My serious advice is this, dont bother buying it. Im a massive fan of SH4 and really tried with SH5 (yes even after reading all of the reviews). I guess I just got tired of SH4.
Well its back to the pacific for me...!
Much love,
Chris

There is a new campaign being written now that will open up the plot restrictions. It will give a much freer hand to you during the campaign.
Where there were - sink AV etc - there is now - sink cargo but if you sink an AV, that will count too.
Plus many more ways to lift the current restrictiveness in these objectives.
You should keep one eye on Zedi's campaign thread and when ready, give SH5 another go:salute:

People like that you just have to let go. There's no sense trying to convince them otherwise because their mind is already made up :nope:. It's their loss in the end :yep:

I respect your opinion, and what you are expressing here, but how many years has SH4 had to be modded?
Please give SH5 the same courtesy.

Exactly, well stated my friend. I know I have been out of the loop for a while but I am throwing my full weight behind Zedi, as I really like what he has done so far, and is doing. And, with TDW's help I don't think anything can stop us.:yep:
People like that you just have to let go. There's no sense trying to convince them otherwise because their mind is already made up :nope:. It's their loss in the end :yep:
I really agree with you TDW, but it is hard to let a fellow sub simmer walk away from something that you know will be great.
I don't like brussels sprouts.
I don't particularly like them either.:hmmm:
Give SHV a bit more time mate, you gotta remeber that SH4 has been out much longer and it was in a more 'completed' state out of the box.
SHV still needs much work, Modders are working hard on it, but no-one is a miracal worker - eventually it will get there.
Maybe give it break, sure... but dont write it off completely just yet

This.
I will never try to convince a sh3/sh4 fan that is better to play sh5. Like it or leave it, I really dont care about the reasons as long it not turns into a hate message.

I don't like brussels sprouts.
Have you tried them with lardons and pine nuts?......mmmm:03:
There is not much to say:
Adios, adieu, adeus, arrivederci, auf wiedersehen, goodbye.
And I do like brussel sprouts.

 Zedi As I posted on another thread. I won't beg anyone to play a game.
They'll figure it out one way or another themselves. :yep:

Brussel sprouts. :yeah: Overcooked, undercooked, hot, cold, any way at all! :D. And especially in bubble & squeak ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubble_and_squeak . Got to be nice and browned, with the brown bits almost crunchy. :salute:

Bubble and squeak. Isn't that the sound people make after eating too many brussel sprouts?:p2:
Edit: Sounds really good. I may just have to adopt it into my cookbook. :)
I LOVE Brussel Sprouts, cooked with cream and cheese.
The only bad thing is the fart concert that provokes.... even my dog walks out of the room after a while....:D it all goes south if I give HIM some of those green bombs (he loves them). My godddddddd :timeout:

Okay, to start with - at least TorpexXIII gave it a go, he may not have liked all it's dimensions, and he may miss out on some future developments, but he tried it!
No to the crux of the matter - Brussel Sprouts! No, nil, nada, niet! I don't like them (did you get that? :o). Except I have a couple at Christmas because deep down I know they're good for me, but even then they have to be par-boiled then fried with bacon chunks (is that the lardon somebody mentioned?) to make them almost tolerable.
Bubble and squeak is lovely, but I use cabbage. And HP sauce. And now I'm hungry :stare:
Oh, and to top it off, last halloween my little girl's minder (child-minder, not like a bouncer!) gave me a nice large homemade chocolate. Well the outside was nice and chocolate, inside was a bloody sprout!
Well, as it seems the brussel sproutīs issue is threating the harmonious state of things here I sugest we focus on another great contribution Belgium offers to mankindīs general happinnes: Trappist Beer!

Yes, I do give TorpexXIII credit for actually giving the game a go, as there are some who would bash SH5 without ever having played it(Not pointing any fingers, just stating a fact).
Anyway, HOW DARE you make Bubble and Squeak out of cabbage! That's blasphemy.

Dont give up on the game. These are the mods I have installed exactly to my liking. Perfect. There might be some mods i have missed but atm it works fine. First time too I got a new boat given to me after my 3rd patrol this time round i decided to play the game by the book going to the assign patrol areas and patrolling not roaming all over the Atlantic. I think because I stuck with the orders I got rewarded with a new boat early in the game - my tonnage score would of helped as well.
Silent Hunter 5 is a Masterpiece imho. :salute: Its just a pity we still have to be connected through the net to play the game though it aint a burden unless your on dial up. :DL

Actually Kiwi, we no longer need constant internet connection to play. You only need to be connected when you first start the game, as it runs a quick check, and then you are free to play.
Trust me, I know this is true because I have satellite internet, the slightest rain, and I lose internet, so this lighter DRM is much better to deal with.:yep:

Oh true, that I didn't know. I just presume cause that U play loads up I thought we still need the internet to run the game. Good to know we dont. Might get more players to SH5.
