This peculiar character was born in 8th of may 1828 in Geneva. Named Henry Dunant. He was a businessman, like his father and in 1859 while on a Business trip in Italy (I believe it was still Sardinia-Piedmont that day) he witnessed the battle of Solferino, where a combined force of Italian and French troops, led by Napoleon the III, defeated the Austrian army (probibly killing an ancestor or two of mine) led by Franc Joseph himself. Seeing the horror and suffering he came with an idea. An organization that would help non-combatants on both sides (civilians, wounded, POW's....). The emblem of the organization is simple, yet it stands out, even though a little un-original. An inverted Swiss flag, the red cross. Simply known as ICRC today.

So, lets have a drink or two today in the name of all the humanitarians, be it Red Cross, Red Cressent, or simply freelancers, who have been doing their best to help people when the goverments fu***** them over and over again. Cheers

P.S. I'm aware the leaders of the ICRC are as corupt and greedy as the politicians, but it's the ''foot soldier'' of the ICRC that counts today, the volunteer

P.S. II The toast also goes to the Red Cressent volunteers, showing the world (even if the media will ignore them) that not all muslims are bloodthisty religius fanatics
