Palestinian News Agency: Egyptian Alert In Sinai In Preparation For 'Advance to Jerusalem Day'

The Palestinian news agency Maan reports that the Egyptian army has raised its alert level and beefed up forces in northern Sinai and on the Gaza and Israel border, in preparation for "Advance to Jerusalem Day" set for May 14.

On that day, nationalist forces in Egypt, who are organizing via Facebook, are planning to set out from Al-Arish for Israel, via land and sea.
It was reported that Egypt is planning to close all entrances to northern and southern Sinai prior to the planned activity.

It should be noted that Facebook pages that call for a return of millions of Palestinian refugees to Israel on May 15 have gained hundreds of thousands of supporters.

A brilliant idea to try to storm a highly-secured border. :damn:
I guess somebody need new martyrs...

Regarding Facebook: it takes no effort to make a click - it's more interesting how many people will evntually follow this call in reality...

Oh I agree in reality facebook clicks don't mean diddly. It will only get interesting if the crowd has substantial numbers as that might place the Egyptian Army in a tuff spot.

Small numbers no news.

So the situation is normal.
Egypt goes on border alert as usual, the Knesset will probably announce the construction of a few hundred more illegal homes to mark the occasion, some people party in the street or make their pilgrimage up the mount to celebrate their victory, some people protest their loss.

Just another march on Jerusalem day:yawn:

Perhaps it is time all parties break away from 'normality' and try to find a solution acceptable to all.

That would be nice, but the current leaderships are going not to do that.

It has more to do with politics and activist who have nothing to do with Jerusalem and the loss.
Simply put - leftists extremists and some other nuts.
It has nothing to do with justice and the loss or compromise.
Its about preserving the hate and adding to the flames and you know it.

No, I would say that about the "alternative" jerusalem day in the autumn but not the anniversary one

Its about preserving the hate and adding to the flames and you know it.
Yes, on both sides. Are you willing to condemn all sides yet or are you still stuck on "its them".

Simply put - leftists extremists and some other nuts.

Israel is surrounded by enemies on all sides, not only are they surrounded, but the nations around them are also in turmoil on how their future is to be decided by hook or by crook or by fair elections.

That poor country only has one real friend the good ole USA.

May take years before they all settle down to a peaceful solution.

My bible says that when everyone starts saying, "Peace, peace", all hell is going to break loose ... :yep:

I hope your bible is wrong -- prophecy has a strange way of fulfilling itself when people really want it to. :)

Yes, true that. You can't blame it only on some parts of the left who are still stuck in their 1970s anti-imperialistic dogmatic patterns of thinking.
