Before I begin I would like to first apologize if this is in the wrong place, I was unsure as to whether this thread goes here or in the SH3 mod community forum.

Now back to your feature presentation.

*Actual thread starts here*
-----------

Guys, It has been a while since I posted some annoying question about a nonexistent patrol area or light-boat ghosts emerging from the fog. First I'd like to say I haven't forgot about my (relatively new) place in the subsim community. Secondly I am proud to announce that you guys have a gift coming your way, a sort of thank you for all the questions you've answered and mods that I got from this site.

So, without further ado.
Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you an upcoming project of epic proportions. Something so huge and mind-blowingly significant that scientists are calling it the next best invention since the Microwave Oven.

Okay Okay, I lied, it's just a mission pack. But pretty picture right?

Anyway! "The Howard's Elite Mission Pack" will be a bundle of anywhere between 5-10 missions designed to be:

Entertaining
Challenging
Visually appealing (Eye Candy, pretty explosions, colors n stuff.)

Historical Accuracy is pretty much thrown out the window here so hard-core history fans may want to give this one a miss.

The main reason I revealed my top secret project to you guys early is because I want to know what the SH3 players are looking for when it comes single-missions as compared to campaigns, so as a result, if you all would kindly fill out the form I have created for you below I will use it to create missions that are enjoyable to the entire SH3 Community (or, well, at least most of you....hopefully.)

When playing a Single mission as opposed to the campaign do you generally look for shorter more action-packed missions beatable in around an hour or longer drawn out missions that may be difficult to complete in one sitting?
Do people still play SH3 online? (if many people answer yes to this, expect the pack to come with multiplayer versions of the singleplayer missions.)
What language do you prefer your on screen text in? (Briefings, Mission Objectives, Radio Messages, etc)
How long do you typically play SH3 in one sitting?
Do you prefer downloading your mods and missions elsewhere than subsim radioroom? If so, where?

There, you go, five question quiz, not too bad right? The Mission pack is still in the early stages, and with College keeping me pretty busy I hope to release this pack by the end of next month.

For those of you who made it this far, thank you for reading this overly long and drawn out post. I look forward to your responses.

Peace out bros! (And maybe sis's if we have any out there.)

One of my favourite single missions in GWX is Evacuation! It is a lot of fun because basically it puts you in the middle of a lightly escorted enemy convoy which is in the process of being attacked by a friendly destroyer, a squadron of friendly torpedo boats, a couple of artillery barges and a few Stuka dive bombers for good measure.

It isn't a particularly challenging mission, but it is so much fun because you feel like you are just one of the pieces in a larger battle, and you get to sink ships with lots of crazy mayhem going on around you.

Goodluck with your mission pack, I'm looking forward to it.

edit: I forgot to answer any of your questions :rotfl2:

About an hour or so is good for me. Some of the fun missions in GWX/Stock you can complete in much less time than an hour. In general I'll play a patrol if I want a long game, but if you are gonna make 5-10 missions a mix of quick and longer battles might be a good idea.
I dunno, I've never played SH3 online.
I prefer English.
Depends. Sometimes as short as 20 minutes, sometimes as long as 4 hours at the weekend.
No preference for me.

Don't you need a license to legally distribute H.E.M.P.?
