Just finished a long sail across the atlantic and fired up MSI Afterburner to see if both GTX560 TIs were being used and just as i suspected, they are not. Weird......

Hi:
No SLI support for SHV, if you want more info try search button or Uby forums, there are some posts about it.
Bye

Naights is right. There isn't anything I can do about it. I played bad company 2 and sli is working fine so it's not an issue on my end.
Also, since ubisoft alreay has their money it's not likely they'll release patch to support it.

Thanks Jan but I have an i7 930. This build has taken almost a year to complete and now it is SWEET!

Ah! I see... the crappy i7 930 :hmmm:
I use the same i7 :D with a 5970 and if multi-GPU is enabled (A.I for AMD, 3D-Performance for nVidea) the load will be shared by both GPUs whether or not the game is supporting it.
Somewhere I picked up, that Alt-Tabbing out of a game may disable SLI?
In your SLI configuration panel is "3D-Performance" ticked?
Drivers are updated of course? For MB as well?
Can't you make a profile in MSI Afterburner for SH5?
Will follow this and wishing you Good luck!

I've had SLI and worked with dual card setups so uhhh, yeah! SLI is enabled.
I do know that in Bad company 2 disables Crossfire when you alt tab but their latest patch fixed that.
Profiles for a game do nothing more that set the card to the optimal settings for the game specified. It cannot force SLI or crossfire onto a game that was not made to support it.
As for your 5970s, if you REALLY think the load is being shared, install MSI afterburner and it will show you that it is not being shared. The primary card is doing 97% of the work. If you can prove me wrong (and I sincerely hope you can) please provide me with the steps you took to get both cards to work with SH5
Thanks :)

Are you using latest version of MSI Afterburner? Perhaps try 2.2Beta? http://downloads.guru3d.com/-MSI-Afterburner-2.2.0-Beta-2_d2604.html
For the 5970 you have three option in Catalyst Control Panel:
Disable A.I. = disable CrossFire = single GPU
Enabling A.I. gives you two settings:
Standard = default setting for application profiles and uses normal rendering algorithms in drivers
Advanced = forcing driver optimisations and forces Alternate Frame Rendering (AFR).
I run with A.I. enabled in Standard mode.
Got a 5870 a couple of weeks ago and ran a series of tests.
These tests shows that scaling is near 90% for the 5970 and so good, that I've decided to use the 5870 and run TriFire...
Don't you have a pair of ATI/AMD cards somewhere in the neighbourhood you can test? :D

Again,
You CANNOT force SLI or crossfire onto a game that does NOT support it.
SH5 does NOT support SLI OR Crossfire.

Again,
You CANNOT force SLI or crossfire onto a game that does NOT support it.
SH5 does NOT support SLI OR Crossfire. You can not make such a statement based on having only experienced SLI.
If you had tested a CrossFire setup, you would have discovered everything is shared...
I think it's more a matter of driver behavour than game supporting multi-GPUs or not.
Why do you think I told you about the scaling from one 5870 to two?
And why would I go TripleFire, when none of my games (SH (90%), GTR2, GTL) supports multiGPUs? :88)
Latest MSI Afterburner version running for a while:

A perfectly shared load...

WOW JAN!!! did you have to do anything special to get the cards to work together in SH5???? Very strange that it would support Xfire and not SLI.

No. As said in post #6, enable A.I.
I suddenly remembered once reading something about renaming exe-files to trick nVidea into enabling SLI.
Did a search and there *may* be something in here for inspiration:
In this link ignore the OGL-talk: http://www.geeks3d.com/20101209/tips-how-to-enable-sli-and-crossfire-support-for-opengl-applications/
Maybe post 11 and 14 here: http://forums.perpetuum-online.com/topic/1096/sli-support/
If you find a solution, I would very much like to hear it!
Wonder if we are the only two persons here on Subsim.com, that uses multiGPUs? :hmmm:

This is very interesting as I run a pair of 5570's crossfired and have been trying to get SH5 to run in crossfire with no success.
Jan what drivers are you using and what settings do you have enabled?
If I run with catalyst AI enabled I end up with the Black sreen bug outside the sub.

I went through a testing hell to find out, which driver to use... :nope:
Mainly play SH4 and had a strange issue with double-screen at hydrophone station.
After loads of tests - and a fresh Win7 install - I concluded drivers above Catalyst 10.9 caused this double-image.
To date this is still an issue, so I'm sticking with 10.9.
Tests showed, that the fastest driver is 11.4, but 10.9 is only marginally "slower".
Description of drivers woes: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2177158
Settings in Catalyst Control Center:
AA 16x box
AF 16x
A.I. standard
MM HQ
V-sync on
AA Mode SSAA
OGL Triple buffer set
Re. the Black Screen Bug: try upping AA to full 16x (or 8x on a 5570?).

Thanks Jan seems like its working at the moment, no black bug outside the sub anymore.
I also had to roll back to the 10.9 drivers.
Edit: Well after downloading MSI afterburner and checking with it the load load is still not being shared over both cards.
