The time has come for me to get a new computer, so have decided to self-build even though I have never done so before (gulps). I figure it wont be that hard as I've upgraded my current PC's hard drive/CPU/RAM and graphics card.

Been looking around for some good deals and found this for starters fro Aria.com;
AMD Phenom™ II X4 840 Overclocked @ 3.50GHz, Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H AMD 880G Micro-ATX Motherboard, 4GB (2x2GB) Mushkin DDR3 1333MHz Silverline, and a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler.

Doesnt look too shabby so will get it as it will save me buying those parts separately plus its overclocked. Not sure what graphics card to get, but want to keep to a budget of under £500 in total for the whole build, so a OEM graphics card will be just fine.

So any tips on building my new computer would be much appreciated.

well you are using an 880g, it has an integrated video card
so if your not picky, and if you would only play older games like silent hunter 4, your fine without a separate video card

otherwise, i would recommend an ati video card that fits your budget

Probably will go for an ati card, seen a 5570 for a good price.

If by OEM you mean an integrated on-board graphics card, well, I don't know much but I'm pretty sure those are NEVER just fine. That's the first thing I look at when I look at computers online. I want at least an ATI 5770, and the two systems I'm currently lusting after have a 1) Two 5770s in crossfire, and 2) A 6870.
