World of Tanks Download

I don't know if it is just me... but I'm trying to download WoT (at home finally so I can try these games out...) and the download is excruciatingly slow... I'm talking about 3hrs for a 1.8Gb download...

Well.. I'm not using my laptop and internet from school (regularly get 1.1, 1.9 Mb/Min speeds) but really.. I'm just pissed because I really want to try to play this game (only chance now that I'm home because I have a mac at school...) and the damn files are corrupt...

Yep so worth it! Just avoid the M3 and M5's paper thin armour. But yet I survived Beta in them. :yeah:

The theme struck me well, me being a tank enthusiast. The gameplay is fun though can be repetitive with limited maps.

If they add twice the map or thrice that then this games would be even better.

And it's free. Almost to good too be true. Make that too good to be true.

KV atm, which I have to remark is absolutely TERRIBLE as stock. The base gun is just so weak. But once you upgrade it things start getting fun. Currently with the 122Mm U-11. Stuff just explodes when it meets that gun. (Probably even more so if I get the 152mm)

I'm liking my T34 and T34-85 as well as the BT-7.

I'm planning to get the 100mm gun for the T34-85 to give it the biggest kick. It's the same gun type used in T-55 I think.

Many people complain about T34 thin armor but once you adapt the tank with an appropriate style relying on wits than brute force the tank is quite rewarding.

New maps and other stuff is due out in the next patch (bout 2-3 weeks).

Aye I know that but there will be only 2 new maps I think. But I guess it's better than none. And it's free so I can't complain about it. :DL

I got the T-34 in Beta and I agree that its an excellent tank. Its not well armored but its armour is in its slopes. Its also not a large tank which is a defense in itself.

Also got the Derp Gun (152 Mm)

My gods can that gun kill.

I enjoy blasting around in the light armor tanks. Fun to hide behind buildings and spying out the enemy. I like the game.

HAHAHA the M5 is even worse. You usually get stuck with a lot of med and heavy tanks and you become lunch.

Well it helps a lot to have a positive attitude towards what tank you're playing with. It would really help with your performance. You can get points for damaging, killing and detecting opponent tanks. You can get massive credits and EXP even when your team lost the battle.

If you're struggling with your current tank, most probably it's because you're playing it with the wrong style imo.

While a lot of what your saying is true Castout, it really doesn't help if you get 1 shot killed or 2 shot killed by a medium. Mind you I drove the M3/5 early beta where the team match ups were way out of whack.

Hehehe I just 1 shot killed an M5 using a T-46.

Just had an awesome match in my Panzer 38T. Ended up getting 7 kills. We lost due to their excellent arty but still was an awesome battle and got like 600XP which was nice. (still 3k from Hetzer)

Still kicking ass in my KV of course, half way to the 107mm Gun.

The Download for me was just one and a half hour...but that was due my own download speed max of 320kb/s

Not with free account. And I'm not sure can one even create own matches. You have to have a premium account to join same games with friends.
