Но спасибо за комплимент. Может быт что потом вопросы есть. Терер ничего, а я читаю много по-русский и также слушаю язвик (например музыку или когда смотрю фильмы). Всё не понимаю и словары не знают, так если могу спросить и здесь, очен хорошо.

I haven't touched it in a while, but I always intend on going and doing some more learning. I will once I truly don't have anything better to do.

It's very nontraditional, I kid you not, the commercials have it bang on, you learn like you were picking up your native language.
starting with learning boys, girls, boy, girl, man, woman, men, women, then things like the man is running, the boy is swimming, and things like that. I just got past learning colors. since I'm not in any situations where I can use it every day my russian is always a little rusty. but I can read cyrillic somewhat.

while I will probably never be able to speak it on a native level, I do intend on being able to keep conversation. :up:

I think their system is 100% immersion; I learned it the old school way, learning all of the mechanics of the language. I wish I knew english grammar as well as I know Russian:88)

Im taking it at the University of Tennessee. And no, its not my major or even required of it. But i can fill cultures and civ requirments by taking Russian. So, im going for it. Those books look stout lol... And yea, thats the one.

I have been three years learning russian in private lessons, but sadly my job and family didn't allow me to dedicate many hours, and I even had to quit this year before being able to speak it. However I can understand it acceptably and more or less express myself in ordinary situations. Knwoing german as I do was a great help, because both languages have many similiarities and even common words and expressions.

Russian is also in a sense similar to Finnish, which has helped my learning a lot. Not only do we borrow some words more or less from the language, but more so many things are said in similar fashion as they are in Finnish. Russian often feels logical, because I would say the same thing in the same manner in Finnish too.

I'm just saying that Youtube is full of Russian movies and they don't seem to be too interested in copyrights as long as the video's title is written in cyrillic. Many of them don't have subtitles, but great for those of us who speak the language even a little.

I know Russian like I know Japanese... not much at all.

That said, I do make it a practice to learn at least a little bit of other languages, most notably, the expressions for "Please" and "Thank you."

It's polite, for one thing. When I worked at Drexel University in Philly, there was a roach-coach that made cheesesteaks and other hot sandwiches... GOOD cheesesteaks, I might add. I used to stop there every day at lunch, because the folks there were friendly - a real, honest to God Mom & Pop enterprise, he drove the truck and cooked the hot stuff, she took the orders and prepared the cool stuff. Both spoke English like natives, but with a noticeable, but indeterminate accent.

One day, as I approached their truck, I heard the two fussing at each other in that manner unique to old married couples - absent vitriol or malice, just two people having a disagreement. In this case, a disagreement being conducted in a language other than English. After a few moments within earshot, I ventured to guess that the language they were speaking was Russian, based on limited exposure to the language from various media. So, when they had prepared my lunch and handed it down to me, I said to the lady, "Spasiba" (Sorry if the Anglicized spelling is poor).

Her face lit up like she'd just seen an old friend, and she asked me if I spoke Russian. I had to tell her, "No," since I didn't, but that I always wanted to be able to say thank you to someone in their own language when they'd been good to me, and this was one of those times.
