Hi gentlemen!

Plying the seas with IXB U64 in April 1940 I made a quite sucsessfull trip. I sunk with gun and torpedoes 13 ships.
Back in Wilhelmshafen I noticed the although my war diary reports 13 sunk ships I am not credited with medals or so. In the "records list" my tonnage rated and the number of sunk ships is zero. Also in the several saves I did during my trip to Gibraltar. Everywhere is mentioned zero although my prestige raised.

I am using GWX 3.0 with SH 3 Commander version 3.2.

I`ve activated the options:

Skip intromovie

Simulate realistic crew transfers

Use historic U-Boat availability dates

Randomise number of days spent in base

I hope somebody can help me with my problem!

Cheers,

Christian

Two questionos:

1) was this your first patrol of a new career?

2) did you make any upgrades to your uboat/equipment/etc. before starting the patrol?

If the answer to both is 'yes' I'm pretty sure what you're experiencing is a known issue. The way to avoid it is not to make any changes to your u-boat and equipment before starting your first patrol.

Another way around it is to use the end patrol function rather than the dock at XYZ. You can't do this on 100% realism though.

If you have a save game from before you docked you could try that.

Yes, I think I've heard that reverting to a previous save (when you were still at sea, but after you finished sinking all your ships) and ending the patrol again, will sometimes sort out the problem. Worth a try if you've got a suitable save.

It usually does but is not always successful.

Has sorted me on more than one occasion, definitely worth a try... :sunny:

Hi gents!

Thank you very much for your answers!

Yes, I did both :-(

It was my 1st patrol of a new carreer and I changed some torpedoes.
As I prefer the steam-powered ones to the electric ones...

Many things to learn after a year or two with the game!

Seems that I`ve to start the carreer again :damn:

@ Frau Kaleun:

Your hints were the one I did need! Thank you very much! Starting again my carreer with your hints I get my sunk ships recorded:yeah:

@ All: Thank you very much for the fast resolution of the problem!

No U-64 is hunting infront of Narvik where the real U-64 was sunk on its 1st patrol.

Cheers,

Christian

Hi all!

After resolving the credit-problem I`ve another one. After my U64 was sunk I wanted to restart the game from a savegame.

SHIII crashed while trying to open the saved game and when I entered SHIII again to try again ALL save games of my career where away. Including the save before starting the career.

I hope you can help me again!

Cheers, Christian

Try going into your: My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\[Player Name] folder...

Once there try renaming the save files (by adding an extra letter at the end) and then reload the game.

If all goes according to plan, they should show up!

Good luck! :sunny:

Hi Fish!

In the Cfg-folder there`s no carreer subfolder. :-(

Just some Crewfolders.

So I can`t find my savegames.

Christian

That's odd, should be there unless the profile got deleted... :hmmm:

Are you sure you're checking the 'Documents' path rather than the main game directory? If so, you should have a 'Careers' folder and a 'Replays' folder inside. If they're not there I can only suppose they were deleted during the crash, (or possibly had their properties changed to hidden) although I think this would be a very rare occurrence.

Edit: I just re-read your initial post and I'm now thinking the game may have ditched the career because you were sunk. Here's a link to a thread that deals with this event in some detail:

In C\MyDocs look for a Career folder and the folder within which is named after the name you gave your Kaleun at the beginning of said career.

If it is not there then you have lost it.

Where else could the carreerfolder be? I am using SH3 commander.

Thanks,

Christian

It is not in SH3 Commander but in C\MyDocs SH3 folder.

You do have Commander installed separately don't you?

Hi Jimbuna!

Yes, I`ve installed Commander separately.

Uppps, but now I`ve found the files. Its
in "Eigene Dateien"... I looked for hours what
this "my files" on a german PC might be :-)

There are several options here which could
fit with "my files"... German language :-X

Fortunatually I am Bavarian, not German o:-)

Thanks for your help!!! I hope I can now recover
after the next crash ;-) U-64 just sunk with the
gun an Elco PT-boat ;-)

Cheers, Christian
