I have Commander set to auto rollback when sh3 closes. Does it work properly if the game crashes? I don't mean a full pc crash or lock up, just when you get an appcrash and kicked back to windows.

Dunno, I guess Jscones is the propper one to answer that.

That's a good question, I don't know the answer either.

But after any crash you can always open Commander and click the Rollback button to do a manual rollback, I would assume that would make it as much of a non-issue as possible. :hmmm:

That's why I asked. It crashed and the button wasn't there. Which would be normal given that it's supposed to automatically roll back, but would also be the case if it hadn't.

Anyway, I disabled the mod that crashed it, and it seemed to run fine, so I'm going to assume it worked.

Oh, I gotcha. The Rollback button only shows up if there's stuff that has been changed and not automatically rolled back, so if it's not there one would assume that an auto-rollback was done even after a CTD. Even if it wasn't, but how would you know...

Interesting question, I'd be curious to know what triggers the auto-rollback to occur. If all that's required is for SH3.exe to stop running, any method of "closing" that program - including a crash - should suffice. :hmmm:

Don't quote me on this, as I've never proved it empirically, but my *IMPRESSION* is that it does seem to roll back even in the event of a crash.

I say this mostly based on the fact that I've yet to encounter any data loss or corruption as a result of incomplete or aborted file transfers.

Would be interesting to look into this, perhaps by renaming a test file and then trip a mod to cause a deliberate crash. :hmmm:
