IMO dogs are the best damn animal on the planet. At least as far as animals that have a relationship with humans is concerned. We owe a lot to dogs. They may smell when wet or haven't been bathed in awhile (im guessing thats were "unclean" comes in), but a good dog is irreplaceable for what they provide.

Lawmakers in Tehran have recently proposed a bill in parliament that would criminalize dog ownership, formally enshrining its punishment within the country's Islamic penal code.Way to blaze a path for freedom... :O:
Is it just me or does Tehran still seem to be living in the middle ages? And to make matters worse, they seem to be moving backwards! :doh:

Further research shows that Hojatolislam Hassani has been pushing this since 1998 and has never been passed by the Consultative Assembly. Yet another reason to be afraid of anyone who tries to introduce religion into governance.
