Is there a way to transfer the rear torpedos to the front for use ?

As far as I know there isn't. I think they are just too big and heavy to turn around and move through the sub. Although that does beg the question... how do they move the external reloads through the hatches and down into the boat?

Nope.

AFAIK, eels loaded into the aft tubes stay aft. Internal aft reserves can only be loaded into the aft tubes. External aft reserves can only be transferred into the interior as additional aft reserves. I don't know whether this has ever been modded, or if modding it is even possible. I would imagine if so someone would've tackled it by now.

I would think that in real life, moving an aft torpedo forward (and vice versa) would be such an enormous job that it would not be undertaken except under very rare circumstances. If you're talking about an eel already inside the boat, I'm pretty sure this would involve taking it out of the boat completely, moving it from one end of the boat to the other over the deck or by floating it alongside, and then putting it back down into the other compartment. Just unloading external reserves from their storage compartments and putting them inside the boat was complicated enough.

Provided the eel tubes are undamaged and working, I'm not sure what the value would be in attempting it, vs. the time/risk/effort involved. :hmmm:

By rigging up equipment carried on board to help with the lifting and shifting, plus a lot of elbow grease.

I'm sure it was. And impossible in all but the best weather, with the boat barely moving.

And then, depending on location and how late in the war it was, there also was the risk of getting spotted by Allied aircraft (or an armed enemy ship) right in the middle of the procedure. At best you manage to jettison the torpedo, close everything up, get everyone below, and dive without taking fatal damage from whatever attack is subsequently mounted against you.

At worst, the enemy's been tracking you on radar and is already heading straight for you at attack speed before you even see it coming. :o :dead:

Ingame you are only able yo change eel types to the fore or aft end they are already earmarkred for.

Moving 1538 kg around is not easy, especially on such a small surface. Forget about turning it around unless you had lots of floats and rafts to turn it in the water.

It's really a shame that the game does not turn off the ability to transfer torpedoes in rough weather as it does the deck gun.

Likewise, you should not be able to dive while in the middle of external loading.

I agree , but I think whoever plays the game at 100% realism does resctrict himself/herself as such.
