Hi People,

Someone please help looks like there are lots of people enjoying SH5 but not me.

Got a steam version that loaded ok played the first mission (training) went back to the dock, saved my game. Went back the next day now every time I try to load a saved game, cont campaign or start new it loads then I get the following message:

"The internet connection experiences problems and the current game session was saved. Please wait until the internet connection is restored or press OK button to return to the main menu"

In task manager I see that Ubisoftgamelauncher.exe has crashed

Log file from Ubisoftgamelauncher has this message:
2011-04-04 21:32:28 [ 2860] ERROR OrbitSavegameIO.cpp (86) Writer has no open file!
2011-04-04 21:32:35 [ 2692] ERROR OrbitGameFacade.cpp (373) Unknown protocol from game.

Odd thinking is I can see SH5.exe is still running so I tab back to the game and it fires up another instance of Ubisoftgamelauncher.exe and removes the error message and I can continue. But 90% of the time it crashes and then crashes SH5.

I have turned off Game Sync, tried Ubisofts answer which is to reinstall Game Launcher. but still have the problem.

Another odd one is that I started the Game Launcher, started SH5 then disconnected my internet and tried to load a saved game and it worked???
When I tired to repeat this it failed but it does show that you don't need to be connected to the internet to load a saved game.

*Notes:
System: Windows 7, 64bit, ATI HD6850
SH5 purchased from Steam
I can load all Historical Missions no problem so I don't think it’s a hardware issue.
I tried turning off all firewall antispam etc
:hmmm:

must be a corrupted download, uninstall and redownload the game and reinstall the game with the new download, it will replace all files and get you working again

but this time reboot the computer before you start playing

Thanks for the reply Webster, but still no good.

I have the issue logged with UBIsoft, but they are not that helpful. I waited a week for them to tell me to try deleting my Host file from Windows. This is after I sent them a log file with crash info, I get the feeling they have no idea how their own software actually works.

i get this same problem, tho not as much now...there is a folder in the ubisoftgame launcher folder you can delete...forget the name now but its on the fourms about it, might help...

I also noticed that i got this same ctd alot when i had MO(magnum mod ) enabled...i took it off and dont seem to get it as much now. so you might try that if you have it loaded...
