I've noticed that after completing just a couple missions in Total Germany (the first two tonnage missions and part of Blockade of Germany) I've earned enough promotion points to max out some of my crew's abilities. At this rate, it seems like you could have a fully upgraded crew (or close to it) by the time you finish the second campaign.

So, am I missing something? Is there another tier of upgrades to unlock once you've completely maxed an individual crewman's abilities, or is there not much use for promotion points once you get into the later campaigns?

I've heard that if you start a new game on any campaign past Total Germany you start with no points/upgrades, so maybe it's intended to be easy/quick to upgrade your crew and get them up to snuff?

Finally, can you get promotion points for sinking ANY ship, or just ones related to mission objectives? Thanks in advance

Well to be honoust its not YOU missing something! Its sh-5 missing serious crew managment like we had in sh-4. The "crew managment" in sh-5 is such a joke its doesnt even deserve to be called crew managment. Most of the time it just doesnt make any sense. In the sh-3/4 days the crew manegment was much more in depth and immersive , you could promote your crew , giv more then just one medal , ditch crew and hire new ones , place you crewman where you wanted them etc etc. That pretty much either never made it in sh-5 of for some reason war removed from sh-5 (since its based on the sh-4 engine) This remains my biggest question for the devs , why temper with the crew managment which war perfectly in order and gave us a broken i-phone version which uge limitations?

The only thing that bugs me about the crew management in SH5, is no matter what hour it is, it's always the same guys on watch. :O:

LOL

Use your imagination. When your staring at the map on 256xTC, Your crew have rotated. And when you exit the map, they've rotated back.

But yeah something needs to be done to increase the immersion of the crew management.

Well I didn't realize some of the special ability upgrades take 2 points apiece, so I guess that extends things slightly, but yeah...crew upgrades seem pretty shallow for the amount of campaign content to chew through.
