Bought SH5 since very long ago but never play it.

Now that time have past, and a list of mods from the great community is available for the public. Wish to take this opportunity to thanks all the modder for your effort and time to do something better than what the original developer did. :)

Now, seeing so many different version and variety of the mods. As one will have expected, i'm kind of lost on what i should be using.

Used to love SH3 to death, dont quite like SH4 because i prefer the Uboat.

Now SH5 is back, just wondering what is the must have mod since this will be my first play through.

Appreciate your kind feedback and tips. :salute:

Always a tough question, tbh there is no definitive answer.
And certainly no one correct answer. Why?
Because everyone plays a little differently, realism levels, immersion levels, voice recognition, point and click style, auto (scripted) style gameplay, there are so many ways you can play this game.
In my opinion, what i suggest to you is that you alone try different mods and see if the mods adapt to your style of play.
There are many wonderful mods here, all have different roles to play, all are wonderful in their own way.
New UI's TDC by TDW is a must imo, so is Real Environment Revision.
These 2 alone stand out as the jewels in the crown.
All i can say is:
Experiment, experiment, experiment!

While everybody will point out MO and TDW UI as must have mods, I point only on 2 mods as must have: IRAI and UHS . I consider these 2 mods as patch 1.3. The rest, depends on your play style.

actually i agree with you guys it varies.

For my play style, i prefer everything as realistic as possible except for the Manual targeting which for god know why, i just can't get everything to works and my calculation is slow. LOL. It all happens back in SH3 days where i spend weeks trying to learn to manual target and eventually i gave up figuring its really not my forte. So ya, everything else except manual targeting and external view because i love to view those boats and ships to enjoy their beauty. But i never use it to scout the surrounding. :)

So now know 2 mods to enhance/fix the game while the other 2 mods fixes the gameplay. I guess thats all i need because afterall, this is my first play through. :rock:

MO is a megamod made by TDW and it sums the most popular mods around, link here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//showthread.php?t=176123). IRAI is dealing with the retard AI from the stock game, link here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//showthread.php?t=171973). UHS is dealing with the sub behaviour, but if your gonna use MO you will not need it.. is part of MO.
