View Full Version : Who says it's great to have Torplexed and Drebbel back?
Onkel Neal

I do! I am glad they are doing well, and it is great to see them on the forum. I know Torplexed and his witty art always make my day--he's a true treasure and a great guy. He helped create much of the website graphics that we still use toady (can't improve on perfection!:shucks:). Drebbel has been around Subsim since Year 1, always a gentleman and his posts are thoughtful and clever. Subsim would not be what it is today without the Dutch Sea Lord.
We all have friends and family in real life, but I also value the great people I've met on the web over the last 15 years. Torpy, Drebbel, my life is richer from knowing you. :salute:
Now... I wonder where Letum is hiding.

By the way I did finally get your Christmas card last year. Alas, the Postal Service misfiled it.
I, of course called them up in a huff and demanded that all my future mail be misfiled in this manner. :D

I call it "The Last Subsim Meet." Haven't had time to add any captions or dialogue yet, but I think it's clear that the "story" will revolve around the fact that Neal (center, seated) just farted.

Drebbel isn't an artist, he's more of a wit, like Samuel Clemens.
Torplexed is very generous with his talents, but if you do want something special, please don't be afraid to pony up $20-40 or so. First, you are showing how much you appreciate his talents. There are lots of people asking him for art and he should be compensated for his time, right? I think so. He shouldn't feel any pressure to knock out pro bono artwork. I always send him $$ when he does something for Subsim (thinking about asking him for a dozen or so new nautical avatars for the forum :hmmm:).
On top of everything, isn't it great to have him in our discussions? Oh, wait, that's what the original topic was :03:
