That author has an *interesting* writing style.
As for Mushmouth being a bad ass, it depends on your definition of bad and ass. :hmmm:
haha wow i like that..
and interesting too. he would have got the Medal of Honor if he hadn't have fired on those survivors.

An interesting study in the replacement of knowledge and writing ability with toilet talk. Highly recommended for the nine year-olds who could actually learn something from it.

Robbins, add me to the list of those who agree with you. It is appalling to see that not only are there people who think it clever to write as they speak, even worse that they may see nothing wrong with it. I see it as more evidence of the dumbing down of America. So sad ... :damn:

I couldn't help myself. Some where out there on one of his facebook sites (the Amazing? Ben Thomson)is a rather rude but truthful comment on his "article". I hope he at least knows that out there somewhere are some people who take history a little bit more seriously than he does.

Was a little humorous at first.. but the profanity got to be a little excessive and detracted from the humour of it towards the end.

Reminded me of Eddie Murphy. He could be the funniest man on earth as long as he did other people's material. But when he did his own show he would just stand up that and say a word that started with f, ended with k and had uc in the middle and it wasn't "fire truck," again and again, just daring people not to laugh. There was no humor, he told no jokes, just cussed and amazingly the audience thought they were watching a genius. I guess I'm just obsolete and don't recognize brilliance.:shifty:

Personally, i don't see anything wrong with the creative use of profanity. I cuss alot myself, and I cussed even more when i was in the military. In fact, i think everyone did. The running joke was if every other word out of your mouth isn't F**k, nobody would know what your talking about. From what ive seen/heard, this holds true for anyone in the service today.
The only thing i don't care for, is Eubonic's, because it legitimizes uneducated pole smoking getto trash as something to look up to and emulate. (Aka, why idiots walk around in pants 10 sizes too large for them. )
edit:
Back to profanity, like it or not, sometimes its the only way to get your point across at the emotional level you intend, or the emotional level that represents how you feel about something. How you word something can reflect the degree of feeling behind it.
edit 2:
Before someone asks, i only glossed over the ending paragraph. And i keyed on "bitch's" as the closing word. Hence why i brought up Eubonics.

O Kane couldn't stand Pinky, being the XO why Morton did his PCO. I don't recall Pinky getting fired, he actually sunk a jap sub I think, then retired from subs. He did let many ships go by and O' Kane almost got in trouble with his back talk.
Cussing use to be a work of art as was lying. Facts show cussing relieves more stress than saying "fiddlesticks.". This guy doesn't have good sailor cussing style, nor any new insight.

but he spoke the truth, O"kane was a real hero and a crazy crazy man that got things done. :yeah:
His crew seemed to re-wright the capabilitys of the fleet boat with every encounter.

Not that there isn't room for truly creative profanity. Here's how it's done, with artistry:
