I seem to be able to sink a C3 cargo with only one torpedo, but the smaller C2 needs a good pounding with the deck gun after to sink the bloody thing. Same range and does not seem to matter what torpedo I use the C2 nearly always carries on sailing.
Just find it strange that the smaller cargo can take more damage than the larger one.
Using stock SH3 and no manual targeting ( as I am carp at this bit ) so just thought to ask the question.
Thanks yall.

Some ships have weaknesses, and do not need as many eels, and if you aim right, the result is different depending on the ship, the environment etc.

Been a while since I have played stock, but I remember this C2 anomaly well. If you are using the "lock" function for targeting, it gives you a spot that's too far forward.

Assuming you are doing a 90AOB impact shot from 1000m or so out, you should:

Lock
When the gyroangle meter goes to 357-003, unlock
Count 2-3 seconds, then fire. You should come up right under the engine-works.

For other approaches, the concept is the same... aim for slightly aft of the lock point.

Remember that the lock points are not recommendations about where to shoot.

For most merchants, you want to hit under the stack, in calm weather, or under one of the forward cranes in rough seas.

For battleships, on the other hand, you'd try to go under a gun turret (because that's where they keep the kersplosion stuff), or under one of the stacks.

Well thanks for the info Roasted....I do use the 'lock' facility and will try to follow-out what you just told me next time I encounter a C2.
Just got a shiny type IXC and a crack crew so tell me where to go bud!

Other than the Western Approaches and Rockall Bank, I am a blank on good stock hunting grounds.

I know you know this, but consider an upgrade to GWX or NYGM... totally different game (and more old timers playing them, so you get faster, better advice). Good hunting!

Stick to deep water, avoid shallow when you can have easy problem but BE and CG grid can always be something to visit, and it is not too far away from the base
